We all want Kid Icarus at this point. That’s the big one. We already have so many ways to play the Zeldies, so I don’t know if we need another way to play them again as desperately (despite the fact that I love em). We have Super Metroid on the subscription service, Mario’s coming out of our ears, and a whole lot more. We have no Kid Icarus game like Uprising, and the old ones are...kinda outdated. They are very basic. We don’t have anything like Uprising on the Switch currently, making it much more important than others. On top of that, if you had a 3DS, you had Ocarina 3D. There is a much smaller chance that you bought Kid Icarus, and we are now at a point where people online are remembering and talking about it again, causing many new people to want to pick it up for the first time. There is really not a huge amount of reason to not clean up the controls for a regular controller and spank a price tag on it for their newer system.

I really hope this does not become a thing and stays limited to Miitopia. The Wii U ports have a reason to exist, considering just how much of a catastrophe that console was and often even took extra steps to flesh out the original experiences, but the 3DS? That console sold unbelievably well and the games that were a hit on there would have been a hit on any console just the way they are. Making ports of the 3DS greats would be straight up treading water from a dev/publisher that is at its absolute best when it looks forward, rather than backward. Upping older game's resolution and polishing up their graphics alone is not a reason to divert resources from new titles.

@@ErenTheWarcriminal Yeah... no. It's nowhere near as precise as the wii mote and nunchuck, as it drifts without a sensor bar. The lack of a sensor bar makes games like Skyward Sword and especially Pikmin 1-3 a lot worse to play on Switch than on Wii U.

I'd have no problem if Nintendo spent the next 10 years on the Switch pumping out collections or remasters from their old libraries from their old home and portable consoles. Wii and Wii U ports that are heavily dependent on motion controls would be tough or impossible, but the Switch is a special system and can easily introduce new games to old libraries. Not everything needs a physical release either

i’m just hoping for OOT and Majoras mask original and 3D graphics. but i want the controls to be as true to the original game as possible. and with these ports i think it’d be amazing for nintendo to add compatibility with the n64 controllers like they did for the Gamecube controllers for games like smash bros and SMS. (also as a side note. i’m not too interested in E-shop only releases. if it’s for something small then sure, but for big game titles i will always want a physical copy.

Amen. As a 3DS and Wii U owner, of course it would be nice for those who missed out on those consoles to experience some fantastic games. But from a selfish point of view, I don’t feel why those of us who supported Nintendo throughout should be shafted by ‘worse’ versions of games due to the fact we purchased them first time around. Mario Kart 8 Deluxe? ‘Proper’ battle mode. Pokken? New fighters Captain Toad? New levels Pikmin 3? All DLC included, whilst Nintendo simultaneously pulled the Wii U DLC from sale Super Mario 3D World? New game mode Leaves a sour taste in my mouth as someone who brought all the above games in the Wii U to now be left with the ‘inferior’ versions of the game, all down to the fact I purchased the games on the Wii U. Feels to me that Nintendo is slightly punishing the few of us who supported the Wii U..

I share the idea that it would be nice for that playerbase who didn't experience it despite not taking to support the consoles that hosted them prior for whatever reason. I do however would like to note a few things: - The Wii U to Switch ports, despite being just 1 generation of consoles apart, makes total sense from a business and player experience standpoint. The Wii U was underwhelming in sales (not as a console outside the lower graphical strength that the other main consoles had/have, which is also a limitation on the Switch). - The 3DS is another story however. The console was highly succesful after a rough start and it hosted a lot of games that were enjoyed by many who are now at the playerbase for the Switch. There is only one console generation in-between 3DS and Switch same as the previous case, in this one however the "many didn't play the games" does not warrant ports because it isn't the case. Nostalgia does not warrant them either. - If 3DS ports are to be brought up and that doesn't hamper development of new and creative games to be released too that would be fine. Problem is Nintendo and affiliates have kinda taken it a tad lazy once the Switch received success. Most of the first party releases on the recent times are just ports. Meanwhile some of the releases have been lackluster, pandering and/or cashgrabs (Ex. Pokemon Let's Go & Pokemon Sword & Shield). I stand that some of these potential ports need a sequel more than a port (and if they do get one I would not mind a port alongside to offer the full experience to those who are new to them) but otherwise it feels crappy I spent $300 + taxes to have the opportunity to buy games I already have played.

Not only is the game completely designed around being in stereoscopic 3D, but that's also literally all it brings to the table. 3D World makes it completely irrelevant, none of the ideas presented in 3D Land make the game particularly unique and putting it on Switch would make it lose the most important aspect of the game

It was cool when it came out because it was novel to have a new 3D Mario on a handheld, but the game itself is too easy and not very inventive. 3D World pushes the boundaries way more, and also uses all the ideas 3D Land presented except better. So I just don't feel it's worth putting on the same system.

I would really love to see Mario and Luigi: Dream Team come to the Switch. I recently downloaded the game onto my New 2DS XL after so many years of missing out, and its a great game! The visuals are incredible, a perfect mixture of the GBA-esque sprites from the older games in the series and 3D modeling, and the level design, and the aesthetics, especially for the Dream World are gorgeous! It would be a little tough getting the mechanics of Luigi's face onto the switch, considering that it was what the bottom screen was used for and it was very important to the gameplay, but I'm sure they could find a way to do it! Also, even though Alphadream is unfortunately no more, it could still be a chance for the series to return, and we could potentially have new games coming!

what I would have loved is a port of 3D Land's levels to the 3D World engine, included as bonus content. I don't think a full re-release of 3D Land would be as impactful because, as you mentioned, a lot of the benefit of the game's overall package is derived from it focusing on stereoscopic 3D. but I think the level design itself is mostly good enough that having it as extra content in its HD successor would be great. on the other hand, I feel like 4-player with a lot of 3D Land's levels (4 people on a tight rope....) would be utter chaos, so my ideal situation would be a sort of "best-of" level pack as side content, or having levels re-adjusted for multiplayer

Icarus was a character from Greek mythology. His father was Daedalus, who built the Minotaur’s labyrinth. The king of Crete imprisoned them for some reason in a tower, and then they made wings for themselves to fly out. Icarus wanted to fly high, got too close the Sun, which melted the wax on his wings and he fell into the ocean and died. I think.

100% agree with Ever Oasis. One of the most overlooked games on the system. I would like to add Bravely Default/Second, Fantasy Life, and the Zero Escape series to that list though. It would also be nice to see the Etrian Odyssey and Persona Q games ported over but making those without a second screen would be difficult.

Thanks for posting this video NL. It's appreciated. I had to give this the thumbs up for the very first entry. Metroid II: The Return of Samus is a game that I raged about to a friend for hours. He played the 3DS version, I moved on to Switch by that time. If there is a 3DS game that should have been ported to Switch within the first year of release, it's Metroid II. I also totally agree with Kid Icarus being on the list. I would put that above Star Fox 64 and the Zelda games. Mainly because we've seen Zelda OoT and MM re-released already. Personally, I enjoyed the original StarFox on SNES more than the N64 version. Argonaut was co developer on the original Star Fox and StarFox II and it shows as it has cool things in it that aren't in any version of Star Fox 64.

And the fanboys will lap it up, even at full RRP. Meanwhile Sony just gave away the FF7 remake to their + members. And yes before someone says it PS+ is a paid service.. so is NSO and that gives access to Nes & Snes without any form of party chat or messaging service 👍🏼 I own both platforms (infact a regular & lite switch) but Nintendo really need to get with the times.

@@thenintendogamer1542 I keep hearing this response, I skipped the Wii & the Wii U so the ports are ‘new’ to me too, but they honestly feel dated & don’t warrant the full price Nintendo ask for. 3D All Stars was a step in the right direction then they slap us with the Skyward Sword port that nobody wanted at full RRP. A lot of fans are experiencing ‘port fatigue’ and its warranted.

Stella Glow. Seeing that on Switch would be a dream come true for me. Also Dragon Quest VII's 3DS remake. That would be amazing as well.

The biggest one to me was Kid Icarus Uprising. However, I would add games like the Dragon Quest 7 remake (plus a port of the PS2 version of 8) and the later Professor Layton games. I'd also add all the other Atlus games that were exclusive to the system, including all the other SMT games, plus the Persona Q games. If we're going to include eshop titles, I'd also add the 3D Classics versions of Kirby's Adventure, Excitebike and the first Kid Icarus. But, I'd say a port of Uprising with 3D classics version of the first as an unlockable would be good, along with the GB title also unlockable to have all three games on it at once.

I'd pick the following: -Dragon Quest VII and VIII (VIII especially for that extra content that's trapped on the 3DS like Persona 4 Golden was on the Vita for the longest time before the PC port) -Codename S.T.E.A.M. (I will never not root for Nintendo's underdog IPs that just get forgotten about, plus with some quality of life improvements they could make some of the ridiculously rough missions (I'm looking at you, chapter 10) just a bit easier and do various fixes here and there to make it an overall much better game) -The Kirby games (especially Robobot) -Fire Emblem Echoes: Shadow of Valentia just to give it a second chance at life (and maybe give us some other remakes of games we've never gotten) -The other Ace Attorney trilogy -The mainline 3DS Layton games (and perhaps the four DS ones) -Steel Diver: Sub Wars (I usually hate these kinds of games but I enjoyed myself quite a bit with this, plus all the goofy stages like the one in the bathtub were really fun) -The Dillon games (which admittedly I've never played, but I'd be interested in seeing them get ported based on what I've seen) -Fantasy Life (I've sunken well over 300+ hours into that game and damn it, I'll do it again, so help me...) -Tales of the Abyss (no real reason as it's just a port, but it'd be nice to have more Tales of games on the Switch) -The Zero Escape trilogy (with 999 like the Nonary Games bundle but with ZTD included as well) -Chase: Cold Case Investigations - Distant Memories which is an hour and a half long and feels like a prologue we'll never see an ending or continuation of, but boy would I ever love for Nintendo to just pick that back up and let the Hotel Dusk people finish that story proper instead of it rotting away in the "IPs we're never going to touch again" jail cell with the others.

Agree, great list, would love to see them all! I think OOT and MM on 3DS is even 60fps, at least it looks that way.

I got a better idea than just A Link Between Worlds. A Link Between Worlds+Tri Force Heroes. Tri Force Heroes is such a fun game, but it's not very good alone. But if you bundle that with A Link Between Worlds, you have a perfectly balanced package with an epic single-player story as well as a fun multiplayer mode. Not to mention, Tri Force Heroes is an online game. It already worked really well on the 3DS so it would be even better on the Switch. With all the $60 ports Nintendo has been releasing recently, this would actually be a bundle worth that price.

I would really like to see Yo Kai Watch 1&2 on switch. The game is really fun, and I'm sure the gameplay could be reworked to work on switch. It's a really fun experience that many people wrote off as a pokemon clone
