Yep, but not really more detailed for the environment. The overall pixel shortened means the whole world can be scaled down to save space. This space is reused to include more content from 4-6. Particularly 4-6 allows you to play as other characters, these space saved was reused to include more battle animations for these characters that players can play.

Personally, I think this collection is an insane value for the amount of content you're getting... Each game runs about 20-30 hours which is short for an RPG, but when you consider the number of games here (not counting alternate versions) there's quite a bit to chew on.

Also this collection has the event chips, and e reader cards easily accessible which would be kind of a pain to do along with online play which will obviously be the easiest way to play pvp.

@@Donnie_Oculus Go touch grass my guys. Its not just about replaying the GBA titles. Its about Capcom acknowledged Megaman NT Warrior. They even put the entire English dub on their KZbin Channel. Its a part of our childhoods we always wanted more of. For years people have begged the final episodes be dubbed. So Capcom releasing them as a collection is at least something. This was a series that could of became trapped in our hearts and time. But now new kids can enjoy the series. This is worth to us celebrating.

When I saw the trailer, all i could think of was playing the opposite versions that I owned... Pre installed them and turned it on at 4am to see the opening of BN1 and then had to go to work 😂. So excited and happy this got a high rating!!

My only gripes I have with the BN collection is Capcom not using Operate shooting star version of BN1 and BN:double team for the DS instead of the GBA versions of BN1 and BN5 and according to a few of the hardcore Megaman youtubers Capcom did not bother to put in the ACTUAL post game content for BN6 cause no patch card for the beast gate toy peripheral you needed to plug into the GBA in the JP version of the game to get or just use an Game Shark in the US/PAL versions of BN6

If you're gonna praise it for including the JP exclusive event chips, then it should have been noted that the collection EXCLUDES other JP or even international content, like the Shooting Star remake of 1, the Double Team DS version of BN5 , Battle Chip Challenge, Network Transmission, 4.5, Beast Gate, and other content you got from electronic toy accessories and some other side bonus content. It is sadly not a comprehensive collection

6:10 They do realize Sneakrun exist right? Encounters are mostly an issue in the first game where you can only run with a chip and Subchips (sneakruns) don't exist. Every other game afterwards allows you the option to run.

Am I the only one who was looking at the chip options being used and asking what they were doing? Also, no Program Advances to show off? It showed off the game, and answered a bit of my questions. They went through and had to modify the coding a bit from what I could see to add in the buster MAX feature. Who knows what other lines of code they broke, or what new bugs or exploits they added in at the same time. Love the video. Thanks for the hard work.

They actually patched a lot of bugs and rebalanced some chips for multiplayer. Those same chips are left broken in single player just for fun but they tweaked the properties of some unintended combos for the chips so as not to ruin PvP.

bustermax may make things easier for new and returning players and speedruns, but they prevent you from aquiring SP navi chips (and possibly other things) so my advice is if you know the games well and have been using buster max mode, turn it off when trying to go for SP navi chips or if youre going for full completion

I am a fan of the Megaman X & Legends series. I remember being in high school & classmates of mines playing these via emulator on school PCs. I started the first one up yesterday & I did find the encounter rate annoying, but I also didn't know there was a buster attack that I could constantly use. I was just standing around in between chip selections. I am glad I saw this review!

I almost find these reviews funny since they make remarks on aspects of the games that most of us as kids/teens could have cared less about when we played them. Just enjoyed the sheer joy of the games. Anyways, I'm glad I stumbled upon this as I didn't know this existed! Im so excited! I don't have a switch but only a 3ds. Bad news first: My 3ds got juice spilled on it and it short circuited and got ruined 😢 It still works a little bit but the colors are all weird now and super dark and the pixels are all grainy. Now the good news: Anyways I was going to buy a used 3ds but realized that I could buy a brand new switch lite and a game for less than it would cost for a used 3ds. So I am ordering a switch lite and the battle network legacy collection for my first game. I just finished playing through MMBN5 for the DS and it was awesome. But I've been dying to revisit MMBN3 from my youth. Its been 20 years since I played that game and I'm so looking forward to it. Plus I've never played number 1 or 6 so these games are going to keep me busy for hours considering the massive post games.

I know some GBA RPGs have a ton of backtracking and unnecessary padding / things haven't aged well but... It must have been incredible experience for you to go through. All of this in such a small space of time for your review

This is the 5th review I saw that wasted the +10 chip. Just a fun fact to the comment section, you’re supposed to have the chip you want powered up first ,then +10 not the other way around. You’re just wasting a chip at that point. Other than that small gripe that’s been getting me ( Sorry for the rant) really great review!

I remember seeing these in shops back in the day but i skipped them for either ygo or pkmn. Past me was very, very silly for sure because these games are (while flawed) fun! Its combat system is by far the most unique thing about it and its story has some rather emotional moments. Got this on steam and I plan to buy the physical version for my switch in the future (hate how the physical version isnt sold here in the UK).

I am super amused by the obvious _smooth_ modern fronts used in the game text compared to the original pixelated text from the original GBA versions. Also, Capcom, there is one more major Mega Man collection you gotta do, the Star Force games.

Im hyper against blind brand loyalty (and i also find the disney style ' this game isnt representative of modern opinions dont blame us warning' stupid and pointless personally) this is a series that has needed to be made accessible on modern consoles for a while now, going just off the games alone and not all the extra content added in for the legacy collection (the usual compilation stuff as well as the e reader cards and cut boktai content for example) is definitely worth the relatively high price. I even actually dont mind paying for the switch version even though its slightly pricier in a lot of places because portability is part of the soul of battle network to me. Theres 6 games ( not including the extra version and heck if you wanna be super specific i believe the jp versions too), online trading and interaction, and even the buster max setting has a use if your either not a fan of random encounters or have a busy life. I did buy this on sale digit on switch. But if this leads to more megaman interest im all in if they show they care. ( network transmission/x command mission/ starforce collection even?) But yeah. Theres so much content here and this is one of the rare occasions where i think those sailing the high seas should spend some doubloons on it. because if it doesn't get enough money soley cause of the high seas? Then it could actually kill this type of megaman game. For big triple a games or games from scummy companies (capcom can be scummy i admit), yohoho away, but i ask you to reconsider for this. Its not perfect and i wish it had things like savestates and speedup, but they do have a survey out for peoples opinions on the collection, mention those things there arpnd qe may actually get them at some point. (Unlikely but worth a try) Thanks for coming to my megaman induced therapy

Would you say better on a lite for this series of MegaMan or OLED? Never had a switch but craving MegaMan battle network and I'd rather get a switch than a Gameboy advance sp and games individually lol!

I actually prefer the art style of BN 4 to 6 over the old art style. Though maybe that's just because BN 4 was my first BN game ever?
