As with any other sort of repro technique (cartridges, box touch-ups, etc), if you intend to resell, make sure to let the buyer know the game's been refurbished! Big props for suggesting labeling as a repro. The only additional suggestion I have is that many of the printers that I've worked with couldn't print 10.75" on 11" paper because of their required margins. In that case you may have to try to find a different printer, use a different paper size (like legal or A4), or print in two parts, hiding the seam at one of the cover folds.
@TopSpot1236 жыл бұрын
A quick second note; though glossy paper is definitely preferable, regular paper or cardstock is serviceable in this application. Under the plastic protector the difference is reduced. Don't let paper type dissuade you from improving the visage of your collection.
@TopSpot1236 жыл бұрын
@@thunderhayes I've mostly used cardstock for my custom covers, for demo discs and such.

What's the excitement about labeling that it's a big fake pointless cover? If it's done professionally like his cover, it's not even different. There's no save bug, there's nothing that affects the physical game. Labels get trashed all the time. Stickers and inserts. Paper goods are biodegradable. If it looks "fake" then definitely label it how you want. But if it's perfect, you just send it back to fake by labeling it.

@Chaos89P6 жыл бұрын
I believe that manuals use the same type of glossy paper. Depending on the games you're after, you could be able to find a manual on replacementdocs.com, www.nintendo.co.jp/clv/manuals/en/index.html *(IMPORTANT: Make sure you download the "Printed Manual" link. Otherwise you will get the Virtual Console manual.* The VC manual is only helpful in a couple of cases. Found that out the hard way.), www.nintendo.co.jp/clvs/manuals/en_us/index.html, or vimm.net/?p=manual. However, I'm not yet versed with the manuals' dimensions, so I can't help there. @Nintendrew I use the same solution for my game collection as well but with a twist. Basically for Disc based Games such as DVD, CD, Blu-ray, Mini DVD etc if games have sequels trilogies etc I put them together in case that can hold more than one disc then print off the right cover art rather than individual covers for each individual game.

I've always had trouble printing on 8.5x11 paper bc of margins. They always end up too short. I've switched to heavy stock bright white legal paper and color laser.

I had to choice but to go at a copy digital local where to print my covers and I had to install Gimp in their machines so I can get the most accurate measured for my CD PS1 boxes, and to find a good render of the box art I have to resource to Gamefaqs instead of the cover project (sometimes they have in-lay covers) So yeah this is the most useful video I've seen so far :)

Thanks for making this. A long time ago, my mom threw out all of my old wii cases and now i have to make new ones. So I have to do this for every last wii game lol. Thanks again!

I just today bought a used copy of New Super Mario Bros. 2 and was thinking about how bad the cover looked when I saw this video. Thank you, this was super helpful!

0:10 According to another video, they do that because the game was sold to them without the case or in a case with a damaged insert, and they want to avoid copyright infringement like what happened to CEX.
