You forgot about the up-tilt, which is the same punching animation he uses against Chunky in that portion of the DK64 final boss fight. Also, his walking animation is similar to his walk in one of the cutscenes in DK64, when he's pacing back and forth.

King K. Rool was my most wanted character at the time and I was overjoyed when he was announced. His moveset was exactly how I imagined it would be (besides the Belly Armour). The boxing gloves, the blunderbuss, the crown, the propeller pack. He’s now one of my mains. It would’ve been cool if he has Gangplank Galleon as a stage, however, but other that that, welcome aboard, King K. Rool!

When his belly gets shattered, the same effect as a Falcon or Warlock Punch plays and K. Roll becomes stunned, similar to having your shield broken. I believe it breaks with around 30% damage, give or take.
