I think the jobs Mona has throughout the history of Warioware represent her life’s story. For instance, in “Warioware Mega Microgames,” Mona’s first job was at the Gelato, but probably ended as a result of her misdemeanor with the police. After serving probation sometime afterwards, she got back in touch with her boss from the Gelato to work delivering pizzas, which she managed to hold on to in “Warioware Twisted” and “Warioware: Touched.” In “Warioware Smooth Moves,” Mona probably got into high school on a football scholarship so she could serve the cheerleading squad while balancing another job on the side; hence her appearance serving Chinese buns in Cricket and Grasshopper’s game. In “Warioware DIY,” Mona contacted her old boss during one of her school breaks to go find treasure on a safari adventure because she couldn’t pay off her tuition with the money she had made, and was making, already. After graduating from high school, Mona’s boss got her a temporary internship as a police investigator in “Game & Wario” to clean up her tainted image she left after her first confrontation with the police in “Warioware Mega-Microgames.” Now in “Warioware Gold,” Mona has come full-circle with enough money accumulated over the years to spend on whatever she desires, or sees as worthy of her desire. She probably bought an apartment and was thinking of customizing her own wardrobe to find a decent guy to settle down with. On another note: Mona may “like” Wario, but I don’t think she is “serious” about him, because her personality and commitment demonstrate that she only cares about holding onto a position that pays her well. Mona may not be considered a “gold digger” at first glance, but looking into her life’s story reveals that it may not be hard to understand why.

If anything it's a big disappointment because it shows that everything in the previous Warioware games that built Mona up to who she is (or could have been) portrayed as is a lie. I think the pig, elephant and monkey were most likely to have been company property or owned by employees who also worked for the businesses Mona worked at in the first few Warioware games. Maybe some wiz-bank zookeeper thought it was a good idea to have Mona babysit them and saw positive results. Nevertheless, the new game establishes these three animals as Mona's legitimate pets now. Unfortunately, this paints Mona's character as a joke because she takes care of a pig, an elephant and a monkey in an environment they would not normally belong in in real life. All three animals show no respect for their owner's space because of their naturally wild tendencies that do not make them domestic pets in the first place. Now everything the past games have built Mona up to be are just being written off as Mona being another pitiful millennial who wasn't raised right. All she has to show for it is your typical student loan debt, mortgages, and bills that include herself and her three "pets." Maybe that can make her more relatable, but is it really for better or for worse?
