Subscription includes all insurance, maintenance, even tire costs. Did you factor this in in your calculation? You need to compare things Apple to Apple. Did you also include free home delivery, free return care and factor in increased flexibility? As well as the interest rates? If you buy a car you need to finance or purchase? Or if you use those savings you could have invested them. Favor those in and check competing subscription from Mercedes, Porsche, Finn you will see that NIO’s model and pricing makes sens

Nur wer genug Geld im Monat zu Verfügung hat, wird sich einen NIO leisten können…Einen Tesla bekommt man im Abo für 550 €. Wenn das Abo Modell für den NIO ET 5 bei 500/600€ pro Monat liegen würde, wäre es ein Verkaufsschlager, so halt nicht.

Even if I had the money, I would definitely buy a Porsche. It has nothing to do with the quality. Well, it has because if you buy a Porsche, you know exactly what you will get. Great car, but it will be hard to find enough buyers willing spending >1000€ per month. The short time rental model has also advantages as you might get rid of the car w/o losses if China is really attacking Taiwan and you get no more Nio spare parts and support in Europe (let's hope it will never happen)

Beautiful looking cars, but it takes more than that when they are aiming for the top with those prices. Not the slightest of a chance.

You need to be cheaper than a Porsche and better than one to convince Europeans and ESPECIALLY Germans to not go for the Porsche. I'm European and genuinely love the NIOs but you go for the Porsche because of the brand recognition here. Being the person that owns a Porsche means something here and it'll take a lot to change that. It's a miscalculation by NIO and I hope they rectify it

I mean Porsche is all about branding. Unless you are filthy rich and have a passion for collecting cars, owning a Porsche is probably the worst financial decision. Your normal wife and kids will probably hate it too given how it emphasized coolness/performance, and not comfort. NIO, on the other hand, focuses on comfort out of the bat. However, I disagree with the statement `Flexibility is the new premuim` from the presentation. It's more like `Time is the new premium`, and NIO has a track record of offering that in China. On the other hand, the traditional car business model simply does not value our time. Instead, they opt for a simple and cost effective business model that treats a car as a commodity rather than an experience, which I think will get old and boring really quickly.
