It's hard for me to word the following without sounding like a dick, but here goes... In 2016, 58.74% of Nebraska's voters elected a President who does not believe in climate change, and who considered reducing taxes on the wealthy to be a higher priority than investing in infrastructure. I feel for the people effected by this disaster. I really do. Especially since this disaster was so utterly and completely preventable. But, at some point, we must all admit that at least some some portion of the blame for this predicament rests squarely on those who are suffering the most from it. And yes, that's a dick thing to say. Granted. But come on.
@mtadams20095 жыл бұрын
@@wickedpissa25 I agree with what you have written but no president has truly focused on repairing and upgrading our infrastructure. New Orleans was leveled before their upgrade. Dams cause more harm than good. We really shouldn't build dams at all. We should focus on water conservation and not water retention. And I'm not talking about using 2 liters a year in order to conserve water. But I'm talking about planting habitat that is conducive to harvesting water and keeping water from running off. Just as the hunter creates habitat to keep the game coming back year after year, we must also produce habitat that keeps the water from running off.

This is exactly what happends when a state ignores its responcibiltys to its infrastructure. How long had that dam been there and went through other flooding issues before then? My guess is too many. So many the state refused to do anything and ignored the fact that dam was in critical condition well before this event. Our state recognized and removed many of the dams in our state like that one that represented the demise of the small earthen dams that were build many , many years before that were way over due for being removed. Now the state is probably asking the Feds for emergency moneys to clean up a mess they KNEW damn well was bound to happen . State leaders are only good at one thing, stealing taxpayers dollars, and doing nothing for the state they promised to secure. This is happening more and more every election year as financially fat companys install puppets for their companys to run the state further into the ground while they bleed taxpayers dry.
