It's really nice to watch a professional like you cutting trees. I've watched some of the videos of people cutting their own trees and making a real mess and getting hurt because they have no idea what they are doing!
@rtel1233 күн бұрын
We were taught not NOT cut the notch up into the trunk as shown here, because as it falls, it can walk backwards across the flat top of the stump. Much safer to cut the notch down into the stump so the flat bottom of the trunk does a controlled ride down the slope on the stump.

Hello from USA 🇺🇸 ! I loved several of your 'Directional Felling' rope attached tools..while standing on the ground beside the target tree. Please show us that Blue Sissor Clamp again! I think it is a more engineered/better designed 'Compound Sissor' clamp which is much better than the single pivot point (hinge) 'branch grabber' that I have seen...your blue clamp was positioned...& locked(?) into an 'open' position with the directional pull rope attached👍 Next tool was that Aluminum extension pole with its features: slide-in & screw tight for short length & storage & transport/then un-screw & pull out for max height. Then also attached to top of extension pole was some black 'T' shape device which 'clicked' into the Blue Sissor Clamp.So all 3 connected together: ExtnPole with 'T' connection to BlueClamp, HD Carribiner clipped to Blue Clamp ('mouth of clamp open) rope tied thru Carribiner thus Directional tree felling tool (unit with long hanging rope) is placed up high into tree & oriented so Blue Clamp can 'grab' tree in desired direction for pulling/felling...using your Ratchet Hand Turn (mechanical/gear?) Winch. Absolutely Great 1-man Directional tree felling set-up without climbing...in wet/slippery (snow) conditions! A+✅️💪👍 Please do an equipment video on those above mentioned tools & also that long Red safety anti fall-back tool used to prevent unwanted falling of a 'leaning' tree..or a 'Stop tree Fall in its Lean' Much enjoyed yur video! 👍👍👍✅️🍺😊

8:25 sharpen your chain, I see only dust.
@ToreDL87Ай бұрын
I've had mine (181 w/full chisel pico for limbing, 261 w/full chisel full comp) spit dust on diagonal or vertical cuts many times, I stop my cut, check the chain and think I need to do square grind or something, but the chain draws blood when I run my thumb over the cutting edge, auch! Yep, nothing wrong there. Sometimes, trees can be incredibly tough or produce layers of grains that run perpendicular to what a chain is supposed to cut! Also the bark can gum up the chain until it gets to eat wood again, then the wood grains will clean the chain out and it'll produce nice big chips again. The study of details matter (your life may depend on it), no 2 trees are ever exactly the same unless you're in a planted forest, you get close.
@Snurre86Ай бұрын
@@ToreDL87 There is something wrong with your chain, just check it again. Raker height, gullet angle or something.
