Couple of years later im playing nioh 2 :D So far i finished NG+ and the first DLC. Played it entirely with sword and tonight i swapped to splitstaff and from A agility to B to try it out. I felt a bit slower but the staff feels really fun! Completely lost with it but enjoying it massively

I just reset my stats from a Kusarigama/Ninjutsu build (which is what I used for the entirety of Nioh 1) to a Splitstaff/Onmyo build, I’m just passed the 5th mission in Nioh 2 and actually beat the Kamaitachi boss fight the 1st try with the Splitstaff/Onmyo build, so I love it!

Dragon Dance II is actually 50% dmg boost. First I read it, then I tested it -- it's actually 50% and it stacks... it's wild, but generally unsafe.

I've noticed that dodging with the splitstaff had some delay due to some kind of animation with the staff, and its thrown me off quite a bit. I guard right before a dodge, been doing it ever since I saw your guides, so maybe this delay is due to dodging out of guard with splitstaff?

Might have to do with Serpent Sweep. Game may try to activate it if you have it assigned to a specific stance. Block stun also factors into that sense of delay.

Good video, I'd like to know what moves you chain together, I've been trying to use the splitstaff but I can't stagger Enemies to well and feel like I'm just doing button mashing.

What should I look for on my soul cores? I'm on floor 85 and just started using different cores

I like Yokai Ability Ki Pulse, Anima, Max Yokai Ability Ki Damage. However, there are many many other stats that feel busted when mixed together. In short, it comes down to preference. Search for synergies that fit your playstyle.

Do you mean what stats for soul cores? Personally, I suggest you Yokai ability dmg (YAD), YAD all, YAD brute/feral/phantom depending on what kind of spirit you use, or max yokai ki dmg. Then, life drain yokai ability hit and stats related to anima regeneration(it depends on your build). And attunement cost -1 is very useful if you want to fit "expensive" cores. For me these are the most important stats. Other than that, sentience charge is good stat if you run corruption build. And personally I have yokai ability ki pulse at a core of my secondary spirit to refresh cleanse prayer buff(izanagi grace) if I want
