I was surprised by how good the story was. It's a story of friendship and ambition and how good hopes and dreams can lead down a path of evil. Two friends who saved each other's lives at one point, who spent years together building their dream from the bottom and becoming famous together, becoming the most hateful of enemies, only to save each other once again in the end and finally destroy the evil that broke those bonds in the first place. I was so happy to learn that my old friend Tokichiro was still in there. I knew that it wasn't him doing all that evil shit. He was possessed by a very powerful demon that killed the old Tokichiro. In the end the two friends make amends once again. I'd love to see an anime of this tbh.

As to why Mumyo still looks 18 after 50 years: her guardian spirit, Yaonami-hime, was a human girl granted eternal life after eating mermaid flesh. It's safe to assume Mumyo has eternal youth thanks to that, just like Saoirse grants William Immortality in battle... And Sohayamaru does both.

This boss fight was so awesome. Not unfair and a great way to showcase everything you learned so far. The final clash with the sohayamaru and the music ending as you plunge the blade into him. 10/10. So fucking epic

One thing I really like about this is how William and Maria are speaking English. Just a really good detail I've never seen in a game before.

A good detail, but it just didn't make sense sometimes in Nioh 1. For example William was talking english with so many characters that seemed to understand him anyway and vice-versa. Aside from Hanzo that I know he can speak a few words, it's kinda bad to see him talk normally instead of using gestures towards those people.

@@jackmclean4120 I haven't seen any spirits doing the talking, but I've seen the " I don't understand you " coming from William, so I doubt spirits translate for them. It's just a detail they didn't bother to fill in. Along many other plot holes.

@@popcultureenthusiast5587 those are not three different people, the first one is Minamoto no Yoshitsune, the second one probably Tomoe Gozen, but the last one is the protagonist wearing Sakanoue no Tamuramaro's armor (he was the one that sealed Otakemaru)

We fought the 3 great Yokai and Yamato no Orochi. If there’s gonna be DLC maybe Izanami (Goddess of death and creation) could be the villain/antagonist where she unleashes an undead army. This army could involve some historical characters we haven’t encountered like Kotaro Fuma and Shinigami.

I did this fight on my own and it was as tough as nails! Especially his final form. If the Yokai Shift forms did more damage I would have rage quit the game lol. Great fight, though.

I just shot at him with a large gun when he was at low health and so was mine. My level, at that moment, was about 100. The boss is not so grueling but annoying, requiring a little practice to learn timings of dodging all of his attacks. I am glad to have defeated him alone.

From what I can tell they showed Yoshitsune, Tomoe Gozen, and Sakanoue no Tamuramaro which is implied is your past self, which looks like is setting up the genpei war as a DLC but the only odd thing is Sakanoue died before the genpei war

damn pretty close for this prediction, only thing here is that the woman that was showed was in fact yorimitsu no minamota aka raikou minamoto, while we are technically sakanuoe and tomoe appears in that last dlc...

Otakemaru is a tragic villain. Sure he took much away from Hide when he murdered His/Her mother. But according to his backstory he probably wasn’t born evil. The villagers assumed that he was evil and decided to attack him. He was probably a good guy but constant abuse from people trying to kill him probably changed him. It doesn’t excuse what he’s done though it just makes you think that maybe things could’ve been different if the villagers didn’t go assumption jumping.

yokai is a product of suffering and hatred, Otakemaru is no exception when their hatred towards the thief and then towards him affected his very being, only enforced by the many who tried to attack or slay him

I just beat this game today. (04/10/20) I died to this hard boss six times and still thought it was my favorite boss fight in the game. The animation at the end of the fight looked like something out of a live-action Samurai movie but without the Youkai. Anyway I rate the game 10/10. I really liked the story, combat and understand the difficulty of the enemies and bosses. I can't wait for the DLC to come out. (Here's my mini boss ranking) My Easiest boss: Mezuki (A.K.A. Sarah Jessica Parker) My Best/Favorite boss: Otakemaru My Worst boss: Yatsu-no-Kami My Hardest Boss: Kashin Koji P.S. I'm pretty sure I'm the only person that plays Nioh 2 with the English voice acting enabled from the start to the ending.

Lool bro, the house was absolutely garbage, even worse than the boss they recycled it from in the first game 😑. But most of the other bosses are top draw and this final boss like you say is just brilliant.

She actually helped us, dumb woman. Bringin Hideyoshi back to life and thinking he was a bad guy and not knowing he was possesed by Otakemaru all along. The way she gets defeated though, ugh that felt pretty unsatisfying. Would've love William cutting her throat or something like he did with hundred eyes.

I successfully figured out all 3 DLC plots the instant the Tengu Shiftling was shown. The name of the armor our character was wearing in the 3rd is only worn by us (it had no lore about anyone else) so it had to be about us. Turns out, we were the main character

One of the greatest moments in gaming history...I teared when Tokichiro showed up, especially because I had hated him for the whole game. And his help, even if seemed little, was vital to let Hiddy fight his demon inside his mind...and that OST was just perfect! What a masterpiece!

I couldn't imagine doing this fight with a heavy build. He had help. I did it solo with a ninjutsu Tonfa build. Waited till he transformed into his final form and launched all my jutsu. He was down before I ran out of tools.

i also did with tonfas solo, but used omnyo magic to buff my defense and ninjutsu to buff my offense, brute really is the best time to attack him with that equip. his final form while very powerfull and menacing gave me nice opportunities for damage, i was even able to let him out of ki sometimes.

Obarou That was really Tokichiro's son, but he died at birth, and so his mother used Amrita to resurrect him. Essentially, it was Hideyoji's mind inside his magically reanimated corpse.

So the summons are glitched to stand on the sidelines mostly during this fight. It was a well known issue. Perhaps they summoned the ghost to enhance the difficulty of the boss

It's a bug that I've noticed. You have the option to offer an item to summon an NPC to help you out. But in the final boss room, they only just stand there until the boss comes to them.

is because he using Hammer and hammer sucks. Nioh runs far better than any souls game and i have 4 platinum trophies from Fromsoft games and yes Bloodborne is my favorite PS4 exclusive and Nioh 1 and 2 have better combat.
