I don't know, I like Nioh's variety in weapons and skills, but games like Sekiro certainly feel more polished even if they dont have the same level of customizability.

@@Aoen6591 I disagree. The levels sure are much more polished. But the character animations feel clunky and puppet like motion compared to Nioh in my opinion.

@@kab1r I'm referring more to the deflections and enemy attacks, I always feel like they're well telegraphed and satisfying to counter. Whereas most of Niohs weapons have really satifying combos, but the windows for executing them are incredibly short for certain weapons. By having one playstyle, sekiro is able to tailor all its enemies too it, which is why I think its more polished.

@@danielhertel5665 Some enemies even human ones have hyperarmor with certain moves tho and sure Sekiro is more polished but lacks depth on purpose. Two totally different combat systems nioh has more variety and depth you have plenty of playstyles builds to approach a situation more complex mechanics while in Sekiro is more simple but polished forcing you to adapt to a playstyle and master it

its called Severing Spin (Arc of Chaos is from Switchglaive). He 99% stays on block when you follow Severing Spin with a specific stagger animation that you see from Sword of discernment if you do fast enough. its one of the best opening to pressure him. There are more moves that can do that stagger animation as well from other weapons!

Its a very strict timing where you manage to hit right after he recovers from a stagger and right before he moves away. He may have tried to attack right away, but i hit first. Could be rng since he could move away instead.

Hi can you explain please how you know if he will use ninjutsu after his dodges or not? At one point you were chaisng him with evasion attacks nonstop, sometimes you backed off. I’m really curious, having a really hard time against him with sword. Excellent work btw. You are amazing with sword and spear, love watching your fights.

There is a few small understanding that is always going to be accurate. Every time he used ninpo , we know that he will never use it again on his next move, and staggering him after his ninpo right away will guarantee that condition so I usually chase him right after that. Then, his next move may have a chance to include ninpo. Another thing to know is that he will trigger after a roll or it when you reach to his close range while he is walking to you. Slowly walking to him on guard will help trigger ninpo without getting hit by it.

Thanks for the quick answer! That last part will help a lot I think. Also if you dont mind I’d ask another question:after his ninpo you go for mid stance heavies, but it doesnt quite seem to work as he blocks the second hit most of the time. Are you doing it for a specific reason (instead of evasion cancel into sword of discernment) or you just wanna mix it up?

@@flindy9848 I am mostly mixing it up, because of versatility effect, but they obviously have different result in their combo ender. Sword of discernment is great for ki dmg and stagger while evasion attack to strong attack combo have better dps potential.

Sensei, I’ve watched your swords play on nioh. Please teach me how you make the attack seems so fast but mine like really slow? Is it because you focusing on low stance normal attacks more?

-low stance does help being fast with your attack, and evasion attack combo is also great to engage with. -Ki pulsing early instead of waiting for perfect ki pulse is also recommended to speed up your actions (combining that with flux ll helps greatly to regenerate ki to engage longer) -Running attack is one of best kit in sword because of its attack speed and mobility. It allows you to be flexible in your movement while waving around the enemy.

Nothing has more weight than iai. High stance strong is weighty. So is omnislice, severing spin, morning moon, heaven flash, shadow sword, flowing shadow, tempest, night rain…
