I began my online FPS life with open arena, a quake for mac users. Then I moved to TF2, a lot of fun!! Next was BF3, I played too much for almost one year. Then I bought BO2 just for fun. But this january I tried CS:GO. It's a totally different story. You have to aim!!! How cool is that!!! Kidding. This game is awesome, I only play this now. My fps carrer is kinda strange because I discovered CS very late but, who cares?? I love it! And your videos taught me a lot! So, thank you!

Greetings! Considering giving CS:GO a shot on the PC if you're interested in taking your gaming to the next level. CoD is fun and all, but CS:GO is where you start to actually game, no free kills.

When you launch the game you select play, then you select something like "search for community servers", then you get the old fashioned search for games box, then you can choose what to search for and aim_*mapname* are servers that are fast paced aim maps, then look for server names if they have deathmatch in the name of the server it's good for learning how to take down enemies quickly. I've been lucky in finding a hsmod server (only headshots does any damage to the enemy), they are great.

This is actually exactly my story. I played CoD4 heavily, then I played WaW for fun because I love the WWII theme (And Jack Bauer as the Gritty Island Hopping American Soldier). Then I skipped MWII because I knew it was going to be crap. I played the free weekend and was completely justified haha. It was SO EASY! I pwnt everybody with the starting UMP, wtf? And then, I bought Black Ops, played 200 hours of it, and vowed to never play CoD again... Back to CS, my true love.

Warowl, how do you freeroam to follow a nade in demo's? when i go to free roam (spacebar) i can only move forward,backward,sideways but it doesnt respond to mouse movement to go higher/lower or change the side you are looking at

There's a meta in every FPS. Yes those are the main three guns used but what about eco rounds and the p90? I see a lot of people using the P90.

Best match I've seen so far (and I've watched every single one of your casts). Several things I found interesting about this game. 1. "Not so famous" teams give NiP a hard time. 2. The aggressive tactics by TeamX on ct side seemed to throw NiP off. NiP seems vulnerable when teams don't follow "standard" game (two CTs in each site, one rotating between sites). 3. TeamX threw that match away. They had it when they were 15-10. Too many mistakes. 4. Xizt = Epic clutcher (dat smoke ninja defuse)

Well, i dont think theres much left of the original engine.. but i remember that they used it as a foundation to build the new engine around. But then to be honest, Quake 3 still looks pretty damn good with the right settings considering how old it is.. and the way it behaves apart from that is absolutely perfect.

I don't understand why bomb money is so important. I know money is money, but wouldn't it be better to go for picks on a save, since you're getting the same amount per kill as you are for planting? Or is getting picks just really unlikely because it's pistols vs rifles?

Yeh you're absolutely right. You need to take more things into concideration when playing CSGO, like economy. But when looking at pure gameplay it's almost completely the same. With CoD4 you could also do some crazy rushes (thanks to sprint) when the entire team uses the right nades/smokes/flashes and covers at the right positions.

Just to be annoying: HL's engine is a mashup of Quake 1 and 2 with some pretty massive changes to it. However, the Modern Warfare-series is basically a modified Quake 3 engine.

You can use Keyboard/Mouse on the Xbox 360 buddy. I'm not sure how you sync it; just check youtube :) If that's your only problem, your sorted :) Happy CS'ing

It was just a serious mistake with the bomb handler dropping down first. The other two had to decide whether to try to fight Fiff (with an awp at long) or retake CT spawn from Xzist and Fri, then take the bomb B and make Fiff rotate to them. Once that bomb touched the ground in CT spawn, though, it was a losing battle.

The main downside that I see regarding the Steam Box is its pricing point. Last I heard, it is scheduled to launch at a little over $6,000 U.S. dollars. The average U.S. consumer will not be able to purchase it.

I don't know, man. Either way, it's clearly a very T-sided map. Namely because it forces the CTs to split up into completely opposite sides of the map, and the Ts generally have a height-advantage from their spawn AND when CTs try to retake a bomb site.

Because "odd number game" is unfair. Most of the map is CT-sided which means the team playing CT will have advantage in that game and vice versa.

XBox charges $40,000 to update your game. It is not worth it, and I questioned it at the time, they should have never launched on Console. XBox is really going downhill fast, I doubt it will survive this next generation of consoles, I see the Steam Box as a viable replacement.

No, CS is the reason why team-based multiplayer "tactical" FPS games got big. Wolfenstein, Doom, Quake, all of these were very popular, revolutionized the genre (hell, Wolfenstein pretty much created it), and came before HL or CS. HL's engine is even just a modified Quake 3 engine.

Would have to disagree. Quake and Unreal created the competitive FPS with their arena shooters. CS was the first and best team-based and tactical based FPS. It deffinetly became one of the most played FPS games of all time.
