I miss the old times of csgo when it wasn't so competitive as much as it is today. Everything was more simple in 2012-2013, and felt more easy in a way when everyone had a similar skill base, unlike everyone being really good nowadays and pushing themselves harder to beat better players and get even more better, taking everything more seriously. Back then everyone was just having fun learning and competing in a fun way just like I was and many others.

I thought CS:GO was horrible at first, but after a few days playing it its really a great game. Feels like 1.6, and no where near the shitty level source was on. They just need to tweak a few things and I hear a patch is coming in february that is already in testing with pros (recoil and other things). I want a silencer on m4 tho.

Cs go is bigger than 1.6 or Source ever was in competitive scene. There is casual mode (like old school source and 1.6 with also surf bhop and all that shit but regular vanilla is available) then there is Competitive also, only vanilla, tournament rules and all. (Like this video)

Hey WarOwl, I think you have a great voice but your shoutcasting/commentary sounds a lot better when you don't get too over excited forcefully because it sounds a bit stupid not to be rude in any way! I think if you get excited naturally then thats fine but your voice is very good to listen to if you casted properly instead of getting too excited every round! No, CS GO has official matchmaking, a very welcome feature for CS (there are still servers if you want). You should get the game, its gameplay is very solid and the weapon case/weapon skin drops keeps players going.

The "Scar scoped" is an auto-sniper. The SSR Mk.20 Mod 0 is it's reall official name. The weapon is a semi-auto DMR(Designated Marksman Rifle). Weapons that use semi-auto patterns opposed to the classic pump/bolt weapons. e.g. semi-automatic shotguns and snipers. Are referred to as 'Auto-' weapons because they have a higher fire-rate and have an automatic loading mechanism as opposed to traditional versions.

Well you are wrong, (i like csgo as i like 1.6) when source were realeased, the big tournaments organizers supported cs 1.6 and there wasnt switch required to source, but now, theres not a single cs 1.6 tournament, and players need money to survive. If im not wrong there is just small tournaments and ESEA still supporting cs 1.6.

I love watching these older matches, because when you look at GeT_RiGhT and F0rest, the two everyone argue for top spot as "Best CSGO player", the older matches GeT_RiGhT outplays F0rest significantly, but as you them develop f0rest becomes more and more of a threat. Really amazing how well they're doing. Constantly getting better :)

Uh, what I am I wrong about? That pro's switched to Go? You've just said another reason why. Source was a disaster when it released; tournament organizers would LOVE to have a better looking game that played just as well. Better looking means more sponsors. None of the players would play Source, and thus no tournaments arose for it until it was patched. A lot.

This map is de_mirage. If you want to install maps put them in this folder: C:\Program Files (x86)\Steam\steamapps\common\Counter-Strike Global Offensive\csgo\maps Assuming you installed it to the default directory. :)

First of all, the reg is fine in LAN. The 64 tick valve servers may have bad reg, but oh well. Just because their servers aren't great doesn't mean the game is "fucked up". If source was good at release, then every tournament would have switched to it immediantly. Better graphics, happier sponsors. But the game was awful, and no one played it, so despite the better graphics it was abandoned till they patched it. GO was adopted instantly.

they fucked up the reg. Just because they adjusted to the game mechanics doesn't mean valve didn't fuck up the game. And all the pro's moved to CS:GO because every LAN shifted to have CS:GO as a competition instead of CS 1.6 or source. 1.6 completely died on LAN and source almost. They all changed to CS:GO and that is the reason every pro went to CS:GO because they need to earn money that way

Yeah, I am used to 1:45 rounds from playing source and 1.6, but I was under the strange impression that match making for GO was a format designed to be inline with competitive, which apparently it is not. Which makes matchmaking for GO seemingly a waste of time.

Do you think tournaments would randomly place large prize pools if they didn't know that there would be player support for the game? No! That would be economic suicide. CS:GO has all the mechanics that make a CS game; what's left to complain about is vague statements about "movement". While movement may not as crisp as in 1.6, it has far better grenade mechanics (e.g free-er skyboxes) which allow for not only good aim but for tactics and strategies to win the game.

yes definitely! the good thing is compared to source and 1.6 that its really split in half. you can decide wether you go for deathmatch, gungame or bullshit like surf and stuff OR you go into competitive mode. youll get your skillrank based on your win/loss-k/d-play ingame. and whenever you hit the competitive mode up, the system puts you together with ppl who have the same/similar rank in a 5v5 so its never noob bashing. if you ever liked cs for its competitive character - get csgo!

Well first of all, When CS:GO was released Dreamhack had a Prize Purse of 300 000 SEK for this game. Directly when GO was released there was already a scene with MUCH money in the pot. However many pro's think that it was the movement and the simplicity of cs that made it such a great game. If you ask me, GO is not "counter-strike", BUT it's an okay game with the same competitive mentality including tactical strageties including smoke flash and HE. Conclusion, Fun game with more than aim.
