Finally I found the right information! Thanks. All looked good on my unit until I barely touched the diode base connection at the plate. All of them were loose and essentially disconnected from the plate. As if they had separated and lifted just a few thousandths. Nearly missed it and put it back together, as all else was in order. And your grinding off the solder joint solved my last mystery.

Best video for explaining how to remove those soldered contacts! I didn't realize mine were Copper brazed at first. Thank you so much!

I am working on a similar style alternator, where rectifier bridge needs to be replaced and soldered back, but what I am facing is since I cut the connections to remove the bad rectifier bridge my wires are very tad bit short and can't solder. Any tips or tricks to extend the wires or complete the soldering? Thanks

I opened my alternator and verified that it has 3 ends of the winding in continuity and the other 3 also between them, is that correct, right?

Also check winding to winding and between each winding to groung ie the case of the alternator for shorts. Use a "megger" if you have access to one.
