This song was one of the firsts songs with original drumming from Dave Ghrol with Nirvana as most of the drums parts on nevermind were already written by Chad Channing, so this is the example of what was coming on for Nirvana, Dave's groove is one of a kind, reminds me a lot of Jhonn Bomham, and when he matched with Novoselic, Kurt finally got what he needed to unleash his creativeness and wild side of the music. What a great band nirvana was/is.

I think ive read that grohl added more dynamics to the drumming patterns in nevermind, part of the reason why Channing was replaced because he wasn't well rehearsed for studio playing

I do alotta Nirvana covers wit my band. People meaning other drummers like to point out that Dave isnt a great drummer & I just have to laugh because even he will say hes not Peart, Carey or Copeland. But if you watch any old Nirvana gig on youtube youll see his passion. I mean ya their songs arent technically hard as a Rush or Tool track but he hits em so hard & never out of time & you cant keep your eyes off him. He just about always hits 2-crashes wen one are suffice but thats the punk drumming in him. I compare him to an American Keith Moon with the power of a Bonzo. And all the time he started out on guitar & pretty good at that as well. #rock n grohl. \m/

This & senseless apprentice aneyrysm blew are my favorite nirvana songs i had the chance to see them in Manchester 1991 & me and my best friend had tickets to watch them at the G-mex Manchester in 1994 but we all no the sad end still got my ticket somewhere they said we could get refunded but me n my mate chose to keep our tickets & i bet hundreds more did as well.
