Dear lord please keep uploading the drums only tracks. They are invaluable for making my backing tracks. I cant upload them because they get copyright restrictions but you have made my friends and I (guitar and bass) jam session soooo much better. I use a program to split the original track but drums always come out weak. Keep playing 99% perfect. I need it! lol Kindly ask...Please do other albums asap! You are the perfect drummer for us. Always on time and available to jam! Oh, and yeah you now vs 2yrs ago is a HUGE jump. Good job

@@walkaz writing something like this is actually so much more easier than learning it or covering it. Most writing for drumming is doing what feels natural. Danny has a very specific sound that’s his comfort zone. It just happens to be something that’s difficult for rock drummers to emulate. Jazz fusion drummers would have a much easier go at it tbh.

Young man you have my utmost respect, you should be making your name by now.

@bloodySunday77 2 ай бұрын
Not to say that this young man is not an absolute joy to hear and see play, and not to say that his achievement is not fantastic... but the agreement for the Drumeo videos is that they only give a few hours (a session's worth) in the studio for the drummer to learn the song in one go while filming it. That's what happened with Portnoy as well. But this otherwise brilliant drummer here did not have to go through the same thing: he learned it while taking all the time he needed, prepared for it, and rehearsed it to perfection until the time came to record it.

I mean, I get your point but we as a drummers gotta understand that every one might have different ways to express themselves, I always end up making a lot of faces and headbangs that I don't notice doing minutes after lol

who gives a sh** if someone head bangs while they play??? The way people want to express themselves while they are playing is how they are "meant" to play.

@@duwaynesteurer4287 I do. That’s why I commented ;) it’s an opinion there fella. My point is that he plays drums and doesn’t add all the unnecessary “look at me” fluff, (the fluff that 99% of the time has nothing to do with drumming and is not needed, head banging being one example).

@@minidiggin thank you it's refreshing to see this comment and I agree with you. I don't mind drummers that get in the mood that make facial expressions or something like that, but all the useless fluff is just pathetic to see, at least for me. Don't forget that music is a listening experience, eyes aren't and shouldn't be involved in the slightest

Respect. This is now in my "musical geniuses" playlist right after Danny Carey's live version. I can't imagine the amount of time you've taken to learn this nightmare of a song plus the insane number of hours to perfect it. I am genuinely amazed. I'll be back here so often to witness this again and again and again and again.

In fairness, in the Drumeo session he was deliberately not simply playing the sheet music because the experiment wasn't "can Mike Portnoy play some complex drum notation." Both players are mine-boggling talents though, I consider myself to have a decent sense of rhythm and I can't nod along with this :D
