@bloodySunday772 ай бұрын
Not to say that this young man is not an absolute joy to hear and see play, and not to say that his achievement is not fantastic... but the agreement for the Drumeo videos is that they only give a few hours (a session's worth) in the studio for the drummer to learn the song in one go while filming it. That's what happened with Portnoy as well. But this otherwise brilliant drummer here did not have to go through the same thing: he learned it while taking all the time he needed, prepared for it, and rehearsed it to perfection until the time came to record it.

I’ve seen many drum covers of this song, this is by far the best! Absolutely phenomenal!

Imagine how Mike Portnoy suffer learning this, now imagine this men right here... His face showing days and days of suffering learning this by heart, truly respects 🍀

In fairness, in the Drumeo session he was deliberately not simply playing the sheet music because the experiment wasn't "can Mike Portnoy play some complex drum notation." Both players are mine-boggling talents though, I consider myself to have a decent sense of rhythm and I can't nod along with this :D

@@auradmg The answer to the question "can Mike Portnoy play some complex drum notation." would be a no, he said he isnt a good sight reader

I was convinced that no human being can play this drum track (of course, we all know that DC is some alien octopus/human hibrid), and boy was I wrong. Ignore the "aw it's not 100% accurate" trolls, this is god tier drumming 🔥 I sincerely hope that you'll find fellow musicians and make a band, your potential is off the charts!
