I actually like the bleach/insecticide era more than in utero and nevermind tbh. Don't get me wrong those are also some pretty good albums but naturally i just prefer their metal-esk songs
@666finnegan4 жыл бұрын
@@ChristopherGray00 Exactly. For me it's the darker sound of it. Not a "poppie" as the later albums. That's just my opinion though. I'll bet Nevermind turned a lot of people on to their older stuff.

I love that Kurt was always making real art with his songs, there is nothing in Nirvana's early work that says "we are trying to write pleasant hit songs that will be played on the radio." They just do it because they believe in it. It's pure.

i walked by that there quite a bit and went inside sometimes but it was kinda small store and electronics not what they are now in 1988 or 89 plus they cost 5 times as much or more. but i didnt hear of Nirvana til 1989 or 90 b4 Nevermind came out some new kid in 9th grade had Nirvana on his book cover no one knew who it was. He didnt even know theyre from up the road he only knew from Seattle and the Bleach album. I kinda remember maybe seeing the Pen Cap Chew name on flyers for the Artic tavern or McCleary VFW maybe and all that it seems like I do.I never got into going to those like some my friends. Every time if I tried to mosh slam dance and thrash around id get hurt.I still have numbness above my hip on my side like the top of my right butt cheek from landing on an old couch arm rest where the padding was gone. that would of been from 26 years ago. no good. i tried a listen to that Dylan Carlson partner of his band Earth,definitely interesting. he is way into a musical concept called "minimalism" apparently...

They have all made very "non pc" music that has made some of the most reputable waves in modern music since people like nirvana. If you can perceive Nirvana as being poppy and trendy, which I guess some of their stuff was. You can defo be prone to just dismissing others music for the same reasons. Nirvana's poppy songs are still bangers doesn't matter if its trendy.

I had a silver-bottom bootleg cd of this on a 20+ track session titled NIRVANA... How All Started". This track was written down as "The Extreme". CD also had multiple takes of Pen Cap Chew, Blandest and the best version of "D7" ever where the electric guitar cuts out for 15 seconds and it's just Kurt's voice echoing to drum tracks before the guitar comes back screaming fuzzy punk distortion. CD was in my backseat. A friend of mine that always tried to get laid got in the car and asked me to give a lady he literally just talked to for 20 seconds a drive. After she was dropped off and disappeared, I realized she had stolen the NIRVANA bootleg. BITCH! I paid like $80 for that in the mid-90's.

Yeah, this song was widely bootlegged at first, it initially opened up the first Outcesticde CD, later getting an official release on "With the Lights Out" (as well as "Pen Cap Chew recorded in same sessions"). Was recorded at Reciprocal Recordings on January 23rd, 1988 in Seattle, Jack Endino producing. The band was recording this under the name Ted Ed Fred, the line up being Kurt, Krist and Dale Crover on drums. The song was not recorded after that though, was not a song Cobain was fond of. The full radioshack video is up as well, basically Two takes of "If You Must" and 2 takes of "Paper Cuts", looks like the reason for the same of filming a music video as seen here, which is just a mock up of how it could have looked.

Krist was always a joker. Kurdt described him that way when they met at Aberdeen High. He liked to throw his real bass around too! One time when they played for the M.T.V. music awards he threw it up in the air and tried to catch it. He was a notorious boozer (as opposed to dave and kurt's reefer addiction) and failed to catch it. It titty-fucked him right right on his melon. He crawled off the stage in a daze, 'till he bumped into Queen's guitarist, Brian May, backstage you see,who shared a bottle of champagne he was chilling. The band finished a choice version of Lithium without him, but not 'till after Kurt kicked him obliviously in the ass. Another time, he and Kurdt thought it would be fun to smash instruments together like two passionate lesbos scissoring. Wooden schrapnel was propelled into the audience and took out a fans tooth! After the paremedics took the poor teen away, Krist thought it a good idea to make the tooth he saved into a necklace. Those cats were the ginchiest!
