"Old Age" made its first public appearance in 1993 as the B-side to Hole's "Beautiful Son" single and re-appeared on the "Violet" single two years later -- credited to Courtney Love as its sole author. But the song was persistently rumored to have Cobain's hand in it somewhere. "That's a Nirvana song. Kurt wrote that song," Novoselic told The Stranger in 1998, and indeed, With the Lights Out included Nirvana's Nevermind-era recording of the song (albeit with almost entirely different words). Still, their version is half-formed -- it's the only known original song from that era that the band never played live, and Kurt seemed uncertain of the lyrics he was mumbling. Tuning: Standard Equipment used: Fender Jag-Stang and Fender Mustang IV amp. Lyrics: One more day to complete my service One more high to decay my nervous Wondering how I'm gonna find a way It's over One more day to complete my service One more time here to fade my servant Wondering how I'm gonna find a way Over She seen through me and mine And I know a later time We could make it with you We're the same Old age (x4) One more day to complain, my servant One more doubt here to find a servant Wondering how I'm gonna find It's over Wondering how I'm here date my cover One more doubt here to save my never Wondering how I'm gonna find a way It's over She seemed true, me and mine And I know a later time We and we're you to you Leave the soul Old age (x4) Just you need and read you free Hmmm And knew You read You flew Ooo Hmmm One more day to complete my circuit One more high here to find my nervous Someday I'm gonna find a way It's over One more doubt here to claim my supper I can have anything you wanted Wondering how I'm gonna find a way It's over He seemed to read minds And I know we're out of time Breathe away here with you Dream the same on the dew Breathe the same on her Breathe to moan on a man Breathe and shame on you He's late Old age (x7)

I actually feel like this song was recorded on D - Tune / Full Step Down. Verse Chorus Verse (which has similar sound), Lithium, Drain You and Come As You Are were recorded in that tuning, so it could be possible that Old Age was recorded between those recordings

If you could work out how to position the camera properly to see the chords that’d be great. I would listen to this song and Thought when they played this one live like everyone would love it but never had heard it before. Sad they never played it live. Kurt might have played guitar for Courtney’s Verizon of old age but he definitely did some vocals on it, I’m pretty sure it was just before his death. It’s in one of the Kurt Cobain books. Have a suss of with the lights out box set for heaps of cool covers and funky classic kurt cobain songs. Some of them are even live too it’s sick
@cloudmonkey26868 жыл бұрын
This is my fav song currently. Lol for awhile now. I go through phases where I am just hooked on a certain album or song by cobain. And I love putting my acoustic in D and playing this. I know you heard the 20 some leaks and I commented on the rare nirvana with you but did you hear the lyrics are much better and more clear on the leaked one? Is it the same quality or better on the cd? I don't have the deluxe version of the new cd. Grrrrrrrr
@Tomnedreb8 жыл бұрын
+Daniel Malone I think it's just mixed with higher level on the vocal track, so the vocals obviously is easier to hear. I would say it's the same quality on the cd, just different mixes.

Cool yea I was shocked lol. It's funny cuz I've been trying to sing recently and this being my fav song it's hard to do a cover with no lyrics haha

Kurt uses a really interesting melody that kinda uses Em and e major so the best way and the way i think kurt played it is just play an e minor but mute the g string so it’s neither major or minor and the rest of the chord is filled in with the vocal melody
