I received my preorder olive color Nirvana. Beautiful finish. I've tied a bunch of flies on the vise and find the jaws hold hooks without any slipping. The rotary action is smooth as butter. I felt the pedestal base was to light. Moonlit customer service offered me an optional heavy base (that I was not aware of) for a nominal exchange fee (and free shipping). The new heavy base is much better weight wise. The stem had an annoying wobble where it inserts in the pedestal base (actually, both pedestal bases), so I cut a shim of plastic from a hook box. This helped but still didn't secure the stem in the base to my expectations. I took the thumb set screw that secures the stem to the pedestal to the hardware store in order to match the thread size and purchased a stainless-steel hex head set screw that gives a really solid lock on the stem/pedestal base. Problem solved.

Thank you, we are glad you enjoy the vise. Thank you for your idea on the set screw in the base for the post. We are looking at a few things to improve this already.

What's the difference between this and the renzetti 200 dollar vise?
@MoonlitFlyFishingАй бұрын
The biggest difference is going to be the length of the vise post. The Renzetti has a 7" post and the NIRVANA V2 has a 6" post. You can adjust the height of the vise by where you put it in the base. If you seat the post all the way down it is 6", if you seat it higher up in the base and secure it down tightly you end up with the 7" height. After that they are both functionally good rotary vises. Ours comes with a material clip included, and a bobbin rest at no charge either.

Its a really nice looking vice. Ive always wanted to make my own but never could figure a way around the patents for the tying vice clamps . Curious if its now opensource or if you have to lisence? @MoonlitFlyFishing

Is this vise made in the USA 🇺🇸?
@MoonlitFlyFishing2 жыл бұрын
It is not made in the USA, we may at some point get there on a vise. This vise was made and designed for the tier on a budget looking for quality and highly functioning vise. We appreciate your interest, and look forward to working to continue earning it. Tight Lines

Doesn't look too convenient for a lefty, or am I missing something?

We are working on a left handed version. You can switch everything but the knob on the jaws, and we are working on getting jaws that are made for left handed people.
