Kurt Cobain: Montage of Heck is the 2015 American documentary film about Nirvana lead singer Kurt Cobain. The film was directed by Brett Morgen and premiered at the 2015 Sundance Film Festival. It received a limited theatrical release worldwide and premiered on HBO television in the United States on May 4, 2015. The documentary chronicles the life of Kurt Cobain from his birth in Aberdeen, Washington, in 1967, through his troubled early family life and teenage years and rise to fame as the frontman of Nirvana, up to his suicide in April 1994 in Seattle at the age of 27.
The music documentary is directed by Brett Morgen, who began work in 2007 when Cobain's widow Courtney Love approached him with the idea. It is the first documentary about Kurt Cobain to be made with the cooperation of his family. Morgen and his team were given access to all of Cobain's personal and family archives. The documentary DVD includes footage from various Nirvana performances and unheard songs, unreleased home movies, recordings, artwork, photography, journals, demos, and songbooks. Morgen used the interviews in the film Lenny as a model for the interviews in the film. This DVD Special Feature video contains Bonus interviews from director Brett Morgen, Courtney Love Corbain 12:45 Don Cobain 18:55 Kim Cobain 24:26 and Wendy O'Connor 33:40
The film's title, Montage of Heck, takes its name from a musical collage created by Cobain with a 4-track cassette recorder in about 1988, of which there are two versions: one is about 36 minutes and the other about eight minutes. Several scenes were animated by Stefan Nadelman and Hisko Hulsing. Jeff Danna wrote an original score for the film. The film was co-produced by HBO Documentary Films and Universal Pictures International Entertainment Content Group. Cobain and Courtney Love's only daughter, Frances Bean Cobain, was a co-executive producer on the film. David Byrnes, Lawrence Mestel, Cain McKnight, Lawrence Mestel, Dave Morrison, Sheila Nevins, and Debra Eisenstadt were also executive producers. Source: Wikipedia

Her idea of Prince Charming was a rich rock star that she’d kill. She actually said that and wrote it as a young girl

He's kidding himself if he thinks Courtney would have even given him a minute of her time if he was only a janitor.

You mean Brett still realise that Montage tapes was just Kurt’s creative story and not actual stuff that happened in Kurt’s childhood??

I feel bad for Don because i feel like he loved Kurt dearly but have no idea how to express that because he was raised by an extremely stern never say love kind of family... it effected him, his whole life, and when Kurt came along it had no chance to manifest, and in Kurt's experience it only came out negatively... there is no telling in the background here... what the family line had endured... i know secrets about my past family... that if i had known those things growing up... i could have been more understanding

I can really relate to that. I grew up in that type of family. We never said love each other and we never heard good job from our father. My father had the hardest time expressing anything but anger. I guess that's what he got from his family growing up. But it's hard on children, very hard and I had to work on many problems, depression being one, caused by an upbringing where emotions and their expression was severely forbidden.

@@joleneloveland4602 that very difficult to deal with an causes so many deep psychological wounds… i hope you have found a way to cope… and if you have kids i hope you are able to break the cycle… my dad was raised the same way and while he struggled heavily with drugs and alcohol and being very mean and degrading at times… he still tried his best to express his love and still tried very hard to break the cycles past down… its complex but in know he had to deal with it too… since his father has also changed expressing love… my grandpa told my dad that he loved him for the first time when my dad was in his 50s

I wish Kurts two sisters and his Dad, maybe his Mom Wendy, all moved to Seattle or LA and worked for Kurt when he was getting serious and on the map before he got huge. Having family with him and around him would have given him that security and trust he needed. They would have told Kurt not to marry Courtney. Even if they, especially Kim, were there when the marriage was falling apart, and Kurt needed someone he could trust in his corner. His uncle Gary, Vietnam vet, would have been a good body guard. And gramps Leland all employed by Kurt and there to protect him and watch his back. That would have been great, his family earning some good money being on the payroll and protecting Kurt at all costs!!

Kurt was trusting & naive and a perfect target for her fakery. No-one could have stopped the initial meeting & pregnancy..He defended her against everyone once that baby came along. When Kurt realized what she was & started talking divorce, he should have hired body guards, 24/7.

Is all what is in the movie of Kurt Cobain and the unfortunate situation that led up to his passing official fact for me as some one who saw him live 3 times and got to get to meet him back stage to get an autograph he was very different from before meeting that woman I'm being respectful to his daughter and the amount of human physical and attractive bolt that made Kurt love this woman she is definitely good and I mean great at sweet smarts to cop any thing she wanted I no because that use to be my live to 25 years later clean from heroin so I have seen people killed for less so Kurt should have had more of his friends are his friends how hard did they try I look at it as he fell in love with her but she still was fishing for a band leader that was hitting it big enough to un hook like the baby in never mind guess who else is holding the fishing pole any way when two people make a choice to use it's no one's fault because you are responsible for your uprising or down fall but when you have a vulnerable person who just blew up the rock seen and at the time Kurt Cobain did not no that thing or woman and your sick from your stomach it hurts to the point of killing your self but he didn't he meet her she's a tough but not at all she's money tough let me end it at this of she loved Kurt Cobain like that girl he met invited her to his show but they spoke all night outside till the sun came up she said she was a healthy person period I believe truly that he would never do heroin with that musician girl compared to that woman you no your right she drove Kurt Cobain to saying to do the hard stuff bang right there srtated the beginning of her plains to get a child to in heritence then in the last months Kurt realized she had an affair with the corigin man and files for a divorce Kurt Cobain was murdered and if not then the Seattle police are the worst academic academy to achieve to serve and explain such as detective is to detect dig deep treat a suicide just as you would a homicide a murder I no my whole family worked for the greatest agents of law interpole and this private detective you idiot you drove with a guy who put in his pocket ruphinol I think ileagal in the USA but not in Europe how did the drug that almost killed him in Rome end up going thru customs or under neath his fn bed I'm sorry but when you higher a private detective you are always on the clock you always condition the situation this guy detective with Dylan stoned a full blown JJ I hate saying that but another motovehenought the f shot gun finger prints this detective if he was detective when kurt left rehab took the plain Courtney highering this guy if she feard that something was going to happen then why didn't she call the fake detective and sit outside the Cobain estate and just wait and wait and he would of prevented a murder or a suicide and there's more this whole detective shit is all bullshit given what I asked other private detectives they said it's all bullshit given he was on drugs it's easy to cut him of and get away with it nice women bullshit detective couldn't even find him what that's crazy well I hope one day the gods will punish all of those respondsiable RIP

@@RS-rb8frCourtney didn't do it herself. She hired someone to do it. However aside from that there is no hard evidence either way, that he was murdered or he committed suicide. There is no hard evidence either way. Only circumstantial evidence, so nobody wins that argument..

@@elliew933what hard evidence. Because zero fingerprints, no gunpowder residue, no burns, the missing credit card that had attempts after Kurt died, the lie about being Kurt's mother, the fact she knew about the shotgun even though she had already left PROVES she talked to Dylan, etc... all evidence some fuckery was afoot.
