Mtv was something everyone had on after school. You go to a person’s house and everyone turned mtv on and talked about music. Either someone had a guitar or a keyboard. If you were lucky someone had a drum set. We looked at magazines and rode dirt bikes. I remember everyone getting a summer job and buying tickets to a concert or two. We spent weekends in the woods drinking beer and smoking weed near a fire and making out with a girl. We spent the spring watching mtv before we went to a fishing hole behind my neighbors house. We didn’t have cell phones or the internet to distract us from just living. I was just concerned about myself and my family.

He was very essentially egoless
@IamGrim_Shady2 жыл бұрын
@@grungeunion3451 no he wasn't, Kurt Cobain was a self obsessed, destructive junkie, he was judgemental, opinionated and had his head so far up his own arse he couldn't see how pretentious he was.He had little respect for his fans and constantly bitched and moaned about his position in life when clearly he had made enough money to walk away from the fame he so desperately claimed to hate. His ego was in the process of tearing his band apart. He was a one trick pony that was never going to evolve and you could see that in the bands later albums.His refusal to collaborate with his band mates in any part of the writing process literally sealed the bands fate, another example of his ego. So fuck romanticising the man, he was, what he was.

He would only be a musical inspiration. Anyone looking for any public figure to be more than that will almost always be disappointed. Also, except for the morons in Holywood, or a few in sports like James, most don't want to be idolized or thought of to be more than their talents.

It takes someone special to write and play music that touches so many peoples souls. He was a damaged person unfortunately, and damaged people struggle a lot in life. You may not have any empathy in your soul, and that would make you a sociopath

Calling Kurt Cobain, a heroin addict who was homeless and killed himself in his mid 20s a "privileged liberal" is peak conservative
@nordicpride97086 ай бұрын
What’s more hilarious is Ronnie Van Zant was a self proclaimed liberal himself! Listen to the song “Saturday night spacial” it’s about getting rid of handguns. He didn’t like guns for personal defense and said as much in interviews. As much as I think Kurt is a smug lib here, he and Van Zant were more alike in beliefs than he would ever dream! Either way I could give two shits. Believe whatever you want. Ronnie was a million times more talented IMO.

My daughter is 4, almost 5, and loves the same music as me. So everytime we listen to music we play "name the band" and she's absolutely amazing for 4. But trying to explain how the drummer for Nirvana is now the singer of the foo fighters, and that the singer for Nirvana is dead is confusing tf out of her lol. She just told her grandpa that Nirvana sings for the foo fighters but the drummer died lol.
