this song just shows how great of a rhythm section nirvana really had. 2 of the greatest at what they do and i feel like they never get any credit. Krist has been one of my biggest influences in music (i’m a bassist). Dave is just so creative and always in the pocket. Then you throw on top of that pat and kurt. Man this band was something special.

We passed upon the stair We spoke of was and when Although I wasn't there He said I was his friend Which came as a surprise I spoke into his eyes I thought you died alone A long long time ago Oh no, not me We never lost control You're face to face With the man who sold the world I laughed and shook hand And made my way back home I searched for form and land For years and years I roamed I gazed a gazeless stare We walked a million hills I must have died alone A long, long time ago Who knows? Not me I never lost control You're face to face With the man who sold the world Who knows? Not me We never lost control You're face to face With the man who sold the world

It’s been over 30 years now and he’s still cool. It’s not “dated” or out of fashion, it’s classic. Guy knew what he was doing. Also I always felt the two MTV concerts he did that year, this one and the unplugged were his goodbye/mic-drop.

This is one of their best performances. The place was filled with just the right amount of people. It feels comfortable, like they were able to lock in with the sound and more importantly the feeling. I think cypress hill and the beastie boys also played this night. I used to borrow the recorded copy my brother had on VHS all the time. I was already listening to underground music long before this, thanks to older brothers and the left side of the radio, but this let me know the real shit was about to be unleashed unto the world at large. Wish Kurt was here still. Woulda been fucking cool to hear and see him.

I was today years old when I found out that this a David Bowie song. 😞. I just watched Bowie’s version which is so different, but I wanted to hear it then come back to Nirvana. I’m sitting here with my jaw on the floor blown completely away!! Both versions are absolutely amazing!! I don’t love one more than the other. I’m angry I didn’t know this information before so I could have appreciated Nirvana’s so much more when it came out ❤️. Bowie is a legend that will be missed for years to come and so will Kurt. Gone too soon 💔
@RastaSaiyaman3 жыл бұрын
According to Pat Smear himself, Kurt wanted to do a Bowie cover and it was up to Pat to chose which one. So, Pat being the Bowie FREAK he is said "The man who sold the world." And having said that, look at Pat here, so enthusiastically playing that song and having the time of his life.
