Nisha Katona Makes Popular Indian Breakfast 'Chole' | Nadia's Family Feast

Nadia Sawalha is joining forces with the Queen of curries - Nisha Katona - for a family feast from India. Serving up tea steeped chickpeas with black cardamom rice for breakfast, tardka dhal for lunch and Nisha's gingerbread lamb raan for dinner, with Nadia's carrot halwa for dessert.

My mouth is absolutely watering. Why am I first here!? I can even smell that curry and what Nisha said about Turmeric is absolutely true. Never for to understand why the curries I've always tried does not have the smell my mothers curries smelled. It was the Turmeric!

Nisha - 1st time I have seen your channel. I have missed your food involvement in food since Masterchef - now I can well and truly fill my boots. The woman you are cooking with, she knows her bloody onions, good interaction. You have probably moved on since this vlog & project - I have just found it. This really is a vlog I am going to do my best to give it the taste & justice shown here in the 43mins & 23 seconds. Sending thanks & big love to you. Them dear squash you used, luckily we are in September, so hopefully Brexit shortages permitting, I can get me hands on one soon. I bloody love Persian food also.

I must try the addition of tea to my Chole. I really enjoy adding cubes of potato- but agree any of your favorite veggies would be yummy. I’m making the the carrot hawla later! Love it and didn’t have the recipe on hand - fixed 😉

These 2 are a HOOT {that`s southern USA for `really funny`} working together. If you weren`t on your way to friendship before this, I suppose you are now! You act like best friends. For "dinner" tonight I ate mixed fruit {raspberries, strawberries, blackberries, and banana} with blended mascarpone and triple cream real yogurt {**I folded them together in my bowl} and crispy nut-coconut cookies. The triple cream yogurt is like custard, and blended perfectly with the mascarpone. My daily morning coffee gets a couple of sprinkles of tumeric and cinnamon to along with organic cream and sugar.... and sometimes a sprinkle of chili powder.

Will have to try the Chole as I love chickpeas (usually in chana masala) but the carrot always would be awful for me as I'm lactose intolerant ( I'd be doubled up in pain and then on a short piece of elastic to the toilet) so that although it looks good is a no no for me unfortunately. Love the veg bits as being vegetarian always looking for different ways with veg.
