Edit: Advice is not for tier-1,2 colleges Prefer cse/it. And may be ECE in worst case. I am from EE and most of the companies ke Job description mai EE ni rehti hai and resume bhi shortlist ni hoti.

depends on what kind of NIT bro....if it is one of the top ones, if not Google or Goldman, there will be many other good product-based companies that will allow you to apply and they offer pretty handsome CTCs too! But same cannot be said about mid-tier NITs and lower NITs...but again, if you work hard, you can create your way...an NIT tag may help to a certain extent as well but mainly a lot of relevant skills if its mid-tier or lower NITs.
