Acquired an 1985 200SX in 1996 with a 132,000 miles. Only Needed a clutch and fuel injectors, then proceeded to put another 140,000 miles on it over the next 4 years. AC blew ice cold, and I lived in Phoenix, Az. Went from Az. to upstate Ny. 3 times. Unfortunately the apartment complex I lived at, someone went through starting a fire in a couple trash dumpsters and set the car on fire. Many great memories with that car though❤ This was all 24 plus years ago now, just today learned they never really had a big following, that im aware of. Thanks for the vid, brought a lot of memories back😊

I’m so happy to see more s12 content, nobody talks about these cars! I have an 84 turbo in sunset bronze with a digital dash and 5 speed manual and it’s AWESOME. Most fun I’ve ever had in a car. Only downside is trying to find parts but it’s not so bad if you can find someone in the community.

That was my first car and I kick myself for letting her go. Mine was bought from an unscrupulous dealer and she had some issues, but my pops was always able to fix her up.

I had one my dad got it for me for $700 as a gift for getting my first job out of high school, back in 2016. Very fun car and beautiful car. Regret selling it, definitely will have to get one again

The CA18ET in Europe has 135bhp. The air filter was this heavy metal box with a titchy pipe . It was so restrictive (prob for noise ) that putting a CAi and Pod filter gave it 20bhp as it made the car produce another 1psi of boost . The exhaust was also massively restrictive and doubled back on itself , replacing that with a Janspeed was worth another 15.

Thank you for shedding some light on the s12. We s12 owners don’t get any love and it will always be the forgotten S-Chassis. To us it’s just as important as all the other Silvia’s and I’m happy to own one. We have the biggest s12 following/Club right here in SoCal!

Doors and wheel wells rusting are a common rust area, really for any 80's car... But *the* biggest common rust problem on these cars are the front strut towers rotting out, big problem area and I've sadly seen many S12's go to the scrap yard for that.

Good video! As a S12 owner I must say you got a lot right! S12s are great cars definitely overshadowed by later S chassis but I’ve been seeing them slowly rise up from being the underdog to being something that is more and more on the radar of JDM car enthusiasts. When I first had my S12 nobody knew what it was & now I can’t go anywhere without people knowing the car or wanting pictures or whatever. Some things I’d like to add on: for the rust you got the general spot but another very common spot on the hatchbacks is under the wing most of these cars the weather stripping on the wing breaks and water can build up under the wing. Also in the rare parts category: -Euro corner lights (all clear corner lights) / JDM Mk2 corner lights (rose pink) -Mk2 mudflaps / rear aero. It was optional on all 87-88 cars but most people did not get them so they’ve become very pricey. - SE-V6 oem aero. Everyone with a S12 wants that aggressive air dam and side skirts yet there’s not many kits floating around anymore. - AC vents. AC vents are one of the holy grail S12 finds over the years I’ve collected quite a bit but you get why 80s Nissan plastic didn’t hold up well to time. Just a few things to add on if you want to see my S12 I’m S12_Rich on Instagram but overall these are slept on gems. Only S chassis to have a turbo in the US, only S chassis to EVER have a V6! Great video man I am impressed you got all the correct S12 lingo and facts lol.

Hello everyone, that's not half the options for this car, and still more to be discovered. There was a male voice or female, keyless entry, the rare 87 and on side skirts, and the rarest of all. The bared headlights with wipers on the headlights. There's more out there depending on country. Great to see others keeping them around before erased from silva history. Nice video

I got 87 XE for $700 last month, it’s surprisingly really clean and runs really great. So far I’m enjoying the car. The only one downside it’s automatic

Nicely done video, mine is the white 200SX you used a fair number of clips on. That one is an XE with optional technology package which included the digital dash, rain sensing wipers, and voice system.
