I change my matrix to a manual and the check engine still on and the code said is shift solenoid. what can I do on this case? i din t change the ECU. do I have to?
@HeavenzBreaker9 жыл бұрын
juan c Salvat no. go find your auto trans, and plug in whatever wiring went to the solenoid and just tape it somewhere unseen. it will shut your ecu up and you can drive manual freely. yes you have to rip the solenoid off the shifter case on your bell housing

@ogsmokey1879 жыл бұрын
Not really. Your car is way newer than these nissans. A swap will be damn near expensive since you have to do lots of electrical work and have a cvt. (possibly doing the whole wiring harness. I spent around 1k on my swap and my accord is a 93. Imagine your car now. Then again, i hand built the transmission, did all the work myself, and did new everything. so if you aren't mechanically enclined, You're going to pay someone lots of cash to do it for you. By no means is it impossible, but by the time your done you'd realize you should've just sold the car and bought one already stick. Sure you can say that about my car, but like i said. I went all out and did brand new everything since these cars are over 20 years old. Was worth it to me. Good luck!

Clutch, Flywheel, Pilot bushing, right angle drill (bits and such), the correct driveshaft to match the ABS/NON-ABS differential you have, the ability to splice a few wires, clutch master cylinder, slave cylinder, the ability to know how to bleed the clutch, different size bellhousing bolts, speed sensor, tranny crossmember and bolts, stick shift, tranny fluid and the tranny itself. Have some fun and do the white bunny setup like I did.(sorry no video, but I got my info from JDS tech DVD's)

Ok. I want to convert my Dodge Intrepid into manual but I dont have a garage just like him. Im suprised he didnt have some kind of rotary lift instead of supporting it by blocks. How did he take his transmissiom out without an engine hoist and put the new one in?
@SaltSpringGarage9 жыл бұрын
I used nothing but a scissor jack and a hydrolic jack, all the work was done in the driveway...its not hard.
@danielle1939 жыл бұрын
Ok. Thanks. I was just curious how to do it w/o the lifts.
@SirXyloid9 жыл бұрын
On a transverse engine it's going to be hard. I don't think there exists a compatible manual transmission for the Intrepid. Even if there was I wouldn't think it's worth to do it on a FWD car. But do as you will.
@daltonelliott54479 жыл бұрын
wow. okay. if you haven't died yet, buy jack stands. scissor jacks aren't meant to sustain the weight of a car for extended periods of time. also, hydraulic jacks will slowly use pressure.

Same process for s14 kouki ?
@HeavenzBreaker9 жыл бұрын
***** that's incorrect. kouki is exactly as easy/hard as any 240sx 5 speed swap with one extra step. all you need is a 95-98 5speed. it has a Crank Angle Sensor on it that doesn't come on the 89-93 5 speeds. If that isn't plugged in or is broken, the car throws a CEL. ^ so all you need to do ontop of the swap is.... plug in the sensor... source: 97 240sx auto converted to manual with a 95 5 speed trans and drive shaft.
@Anthony-fe4oj7 жыл бұрын
Nice video! But why wouldn't you just buy a 240 5 speed instead of swapping? There's a million of them out there lol

@illmaticer8 жыл бұрын
+OGArrows also doesn't matter if it's a manual or auto drive shaft just has to go abs or no abs matching shaft.
@tayahjade86008 жыл бұрын
+illmaticer driveshaft is different between manual & auto. I compared the two with my manual swap and the auto one is slightly shorter. It would only work if it were modified, better off just buying a manual one.

@KTaylorD10 жыл бұрын
how did you deal with the ecu?
@HeavenzBreaker9 жыл бұрын
***** half wrong... it will not throw a code on 95-98 models... IF you use a 95-98 transmission with an in-tact crank angle sensor on it and plug it in. If you buy a 94-90 5 speed, it doesn't even have the crank angle sensor, so your ecu is left with a hanging plug which not only looks ghetto and retarded, but throws a code by not being able to read the sensor (since there isn't one)
@MUJT3BA9 жыл бұрын
Normally you would jump some wires to trick the car into thinking its in neutral as an auto will only start in park or neutral.
