I drive a 2007 2.5 S Altima & love it. Nissan did a great job styling this new one. It looks better than the current one IMO. I may buy this model sometime in the future, but the 3.5. I've only owned 4-cylinders & I really want a V-6 for my next car.

This is indeed the best seats in it's class. Try them out so you can feel it too. It has a soundproofing cover on it's hood that's why it has minimize the noise of the engine. Very nice car indeed.

I tested it not too long ago, and it was nice. Very nice.The CVT was very smooth, except for the small torque dead spots on full acceleration. However, the 2013 Honda Accord is a close match. Test them both to see which one you like better.
@thecarexpert2112 жыл бұрын
Yea. Let me clarify. I don't hate CVT's that much. Just 4 cyl CVT's. That undesirable drone at higher speeds, is what I hate about 4 cyl CVT's. But I have been in V-6 hybrids paired to a CVT (Lexus 450h) and I honestly don't mind it! Very smooth, quiet, powerful.
@FejjNagaf12 жыл бұрын
Yes, it does. They all do. It's how a CVT works. Despite what you think you know, you are mistaken. If you floor this CVT, the engine revs to almost redline, then holds the engine at those revs until you get off the gas. All CVT's do this.

and I like how everyone only comments about the CVT but not the rest of the car. I really think Nissan did a great job, the current Altima is the second best selling car in America anyway, so that goes to show most people dont care about CVT. I think it's cool how Nissan used Nasa technology for the seats!

@tony23zz12 жыл бұрын
For a mid-sized sedan, the altima looks as sporty as it comes. And nissans fleet consist of a couple cars that can match with some of the fastest cars in the world. they got a GTR that goes 0-60 in under 3, and a 332 hp 370z that is argubly the most affordable true sports car there is. Nissan is innovation.
@AlohaBiatch12 жыл бұрын
holy crap this is amazing. Most other cars accelarate in about 9 seconds from 0-60 and this has much better gas mileage than any other damn family sedan! the interior also looks very nice. I might buy this car next year and compare it with the mazda 6 which will probably have excellent driving feel and MPG as well.
@revadavis12 жыл бұрын
I'm looking forward to the redesigned Altima coupe. Any word on when that might come out?
@thecarexpert2112 жыл бұрын
Yea. I don't hate CVT that much. I really think it depends on the engine. In my opinion I just hate that loud "drone" noise coming from the engine in a 4 cyl CVT. But 6 cyl CVT is a different story. My aunt and uncle both have 6 cyl hybrids, paired to a CVT. Those I have to admit, I don't mind. It's very smooth, and pulls very well.

bro a CVT is just a series of belts the expand and or contract im pretty sure, which allows a continuous gear in the correct torque range. look up nissan altima 0-100 or something and you'll notice the car doesnt shift! having paddle shifts etc or a manumatic is just a synthetic gear set with a CVT because in reality its just one continously expanding gear
@1guyin1012 жыл бұрын
It is mostly just the ones that haven't ever driven one. They will have to get used to it though, because the choice for car companies to meet the upcoming CAFE requirements is going to be either CVT or 8 or 9 speed autos and those autos are expensive to develop.
@yelp100012 жыл бұрын
If you complain about a cvt and have never driven a nissan cvt then your complaint is invalid. I thought they sucked until I drove a altima rental for a few weeks and it changed my mind about the cvt. I would take it any day of the week over a conventional auto. Maybe other cvts suck but the one in the altima works really well.

The 2014 Infiniti G isn't going to share anything with the Altima. It shares it's platform with the upcoming 2014 Mercedes Benz C class. They will even share a 4 cylinder diesel engine. Where in world did you get your information from?
@1guyin1012 жыл бұрын
Granted the early CVTs were somewhat noisy and the programming often left a lot to be desired. Nissan seems to do a much better job than the others at making the CVTs acceptable and their owners don't seem to mind trading off a little rubber band feel for more mpg. Most people will only notice it the first time they drive it anyway. I wonder what people will say when the new Hondas show up with CVTs?

I've heard -- although I don't know how accurate because it was on the Internet -- Nissan is using the 2013 Altima as a "platform" for the 2014 Infiniti G Sedan. I think it looks a little too "Lexus-ish" for my taste but I'm sure Nissan knows what it's doing.

CVT's are smooth at pretty much any speeds. the i4 is smooth, unless your going 110, which most people don't do in these kind of cars. i have a 2.5sl and at 80, it's extremely smooth and quiet.

The only reason you dont see CVT's in F1 is because they were banned, I think Williams had one. I think that was a great shame because it would have speeded* up the development time. THANK YOU so fucking much! finally someone with some common sense! I am a car enthusiast and out of all transmissions I much prefer a stick and a clutch, but honestly this is a family sedan, 99% of the people who buy this car are getting it to take their kids to school, go to work, etc. They DONT care if its a cvt or a 8 speed auto as long as it's smooth and good on gas! Cvts are honestly not that bad.
