I actually own the first ever tranny swapped Altima Coupe. Unfortunately, my car is in horrible conditions atm. I left it with a family member and somehow they allowed water to get inside of it. All seats are peeling, dash is trashed, and etc. It'd be a lot to get her back up to shape, but I am thinking about stripping her on camera. She currently can do 0-60 in 4.9 without the turbo installed.

Clutch replaced once at 150,000 miles. Will need to replace Rear seal in engine at 500,000!! Replace Clutch and have Transmission serviced. @@GearsAndTech thanks man I appreciate it
@dominickbrizendine8 ай бұрын
Start with basic routine maintenance like oil change, spark plugs, brakes/tires, etc. make sure all the mechanics are running solid yk. Then go to engine/transmission tuning. You don't want to tune the engine all the way up without any work to the trans. Upgrade your air intake and forge the internals of the engine that will make it handle more HP, air induction, etc. from there if you want to do anything crazy to it, upgrade the tires/brakes/suspension, go FBO (full bolt on) and then you will be pretty close if not already able to put a supercharger/turbo/procharger on it

Idk about underrated, I see ALOT of them out here in Northwest Arizona/Vegas area. The hot thing out here now is taking the mid 90's and early 2000's American Subcompacts and building them into tuners because they are so cheap, I just bought a 2000 2 Door Grand Am for my soon to be 12 year grandson's first car that were going to build into a tuner ish style build. I got it as part of package/moving deal along with a 1976 Ford Ranchero that I was wanting, at first I didn't really want the Grand-Am but they threw me a price for both that I couldn't say no to, the Grand-Am is a running driving car and the Ranchero is more of a year-year and a half project car, So I'll drive the Grand-Am while I finish the Ranchero and then park it and start it working on the Grand-Am.

Fr I've heard so many bad stories about the CVT's but I got a 07 2.5 Altima as my 2nd car. I got it really low bc of the mileage and I didn't mind the mileage bc I only needed something short term to get to work and what not and was going to buy something new when I started my new job. I was 18 and didn't know how actually important it was to keep up on routine maintenance. My girl and I were having to live in it at the time so we were on the move 24/7 making money and trying to not solicit in the same spot for too long. Put 15k miles on it in 3 months maybe 4 and only changed the oil once, I put oil one other time but didn't drain it or change the filter, it already had 197k miles when I got it and I heard countless stories about the cvt in them blowing before 100k. Needless to say it shouldve been fucked by that point but surprisingly it was the one of the most mechanically sound vehicles Ive ever had. Never had a single problem out of it and would likely still have it if I hadn't traded it for an extended length for expedition worth at least 5k more than the Altima
