What mods do you know of that can be done to a 2019 Nissan Altima 2.5 S AWD? I already did a custom exhaust from Cat back but I want to redo it and go to 2.5-3 in instead of just 2in. Got the rims and tires, got the afe cold air intake, but now I want to tune my 2019 and find some cams for it and eventually custom build headers. Is there anything that YOU know of I can do to help performance?

“Adding power or removing weight is the exact same thing as far as I’m concerned.” -Physics
@denisminigarage20303 жыл бұрын
it's all about the power to weight ratio, it doesn't matter how big the real numbers are. when you simplify the fraction, it's all the same. so instead of increasing the numerator, (power) just decrease the denominator (weight) and you're good to go.
@JohnBlaze5053 жыл бұрын
1st thing to go is the engine, those things weigh a ton
@ernestobercovitch81603 жыл бұрын
Yes. For acceleration, it's the same if you ignore wind resistance and rolling resistance. However for top speed, power will get you a much higher top speed than weight reduction will. This, of course, assumes that you are comparing added power versus weight reduction that will result in the same weight/power. For example, a 2013 Challenger SXT Plus weighs 3825 and has 305 horsepower. Instead of adding 30 horsepower, you could remove 360 pounds to get the same weight/power. I am including a 200 lb driver for this equation and rounded to the nearest pound to get 360. 4025/335 = 3665/305 = 12.0

The best thing about doing your own car maintenance is that you not only understand how things work BUT you realise how many thin and seemingly fragile things keep you on the road making you extremely carefull about how fast and/or agressive you wanna go into your next sharp turn or top traveling speed :D A secondary benefit is that after spending many hours with maintenance and fixing things you definetly do not want to crash anywhere as it would mean more money and even more time invested into getting it back into its previous shape and condition. And you also have no time for drugs. Or the money. Or both. So it is definetly a good thing for your kids :D

If a $1K cat back exhaust, $400 intake, $1K headers, probably $1K downpipe and high flow cat, $1K in tires, plus the expense of paying someone to install them if u don't have your own $10K lift, plus a $400-1500 dyno tune is all "cheap," what constitutes expensive?? Just buying a new Corvette?! 😆 I'm not broke, but I still consider $5K+ in mods expensive. And we haven't even gotten to the upgraded brakes, suspension, bracing, cams, lighter wheels, etc etc. I plan to get it all, but don't pretend any of this stuff is cheap!

I really think of it as gradually buying stuff. Buying 5k in parts instantly hurts. Buy something you want(say a new turbo) then upgrade with that. Or you can save to buy and upgrade all at once. Make a bank account that you siphon some money every check into the account. You can use that money for purely upgrades and use it. You would be suprised how little time it could take to make that money.

Here's a few suggestions if anyone has anything that is powered by the series 2 or Series 3 3800 V6 from GM, although most components from the first gen and series 1 3800 are not interchangeable, the exhaust manifolds should be. And guess what the exhaust manifolds for the 1st Gen 3800 are actually headers. Just remove the heat shield and have them ceramic-coated mounted and you're good to go there or you can add turbo for MO POWA BABY!!! Also whether you use the first gen 3800 exhaust manifolds or not you can extend the length of the crossover pipe or redirect the Left Bank to the crossover and then tie it into a turbo and then exit out to the cat. Also removing excess Flash from the exhaust ports of the heads on the series 2 and Series 3 3800 is good for about five additional horsepower which would put you assuming all else stock between 200 and 210 horsepower.... Also the coil packs for the 3800 will interchange with any number of models from GM regardless of engine size. That includes the Impala SS coil packs which put out 20,000 more volts.

Here's some low-cost mods. Switch your stock-sized tires with ones that are smaller in diameter and wider in width that wil fit on your rims. The stock rubber on my 2016 Elantra are 195-65 x 15's. I switched them for a set of 205-60 x 15 'sand got more low-end power (0 to 60) because of the change in gear ratio caused by reducing the diameter of the tires. Another bonus (of sorts) is that your actual speed will be lower than what your speedometer says. This will help keep the law off your tail when the speedo says 80mph when you're actually cruising at 76mph. Swapping out your stock air filter for a K&N or AEM reusable one will improve the sound and also add a few horses. If your car has an automatic with a manual mode, you can train your engine and tranny ECU's to match your driving style by manually switching gears. For example, I have a 6-speed auto in my Elantra with shift points for 4th, 5th & 6th are 25mph, 30mph and 40mph. If I'm starting from a dead stop and want to get to the speed limit around town (usually 35-40mph) as quickly as possible, I'll keep it in 1st until I get to 40 then switch it to 6th with a few fast flicks of the gearshift. After about a dozen runs like this, the car learns the routine and will hold the shifts longer when it's back in AUTO mode - even when I've got the ECO setting turned on.

Another thing to add to this is performance suspension and lowering your car. Tight suspension actually helps with gaining speed especially on turns on highway or back roads. Lowering your car is another gain of speed. Less air flow that hits your tires which cause drag means a clean pull. Elantras arent necessarily race type but you can squeeze somw juice put fasure. One thing they are really good for is windy back roads. I can guarantee you all the boys who have a fast car have no skill taking sharp turns. I can take many of them on the back roads and the majority will end up crashing because they dont have any real control of their car with or without performance suspension. Also, f9r all elantra owners. If you want a crazy good sounding exhaust, i suggest Flowmaster Outlaw muffler. Theres 2 options. 3inch or 10inch. 3inch is best for Any elantra even sonata that has a turbo. 10inch for any of the N/A non turbo engines. straight Pipe the resonator and remove your cat if youd like. But switch to a better header instead of the cast iron one, it will leak with the next exhaust flow. Magnaflow has a good header thatll fit for like 700. Obviously get it tuned after if you can find a shop that will be willing. Not many shops in my area will tune a NA engine from hyundias lol.

Maybe 2-4 but I’m ok and a good reason. 1: get a UEL header that I know someone made for our 2.4L 2AZ 2: o2 sensor defouler 3: 2.5” down pipe 4: magnaflow high flow cat 5: 2.5” ultra quiet vibrant resonator 6: 2.5” exhaust pipe 7: right single side 2.5” pip with quad exhaust tips shape and form like square. Like pagani zonda. Something different. It’s gonna sound shweet. Little by little

@jameshouse78622 ай бұрын
That’s not bad! Definitely mandatory! But as a bonus to this video I’d add 1 supercharger or turbo (or twin) 2 depending on the car new fuel injection or a 4 barrel carburetor 3 in take headlights, or hood scoop or if you are fancy a bug catcher 4 X pipe or why pipe with the Exhaust set up X pipe is better for power but a Y pipe is good for trucks, hatchbacks and SUVs more torque 5 a better cooling system just upgrade the radiator and your fans! Optional down grades Remove the AC, it always needs Freon, and is just a waist of space and money,

For some cars you can just drop in a k&n panel filter and delete any silencers. For my 97 4.6 2v xr7.. i deleted the air intake silencer and replaced it with exaust pipe facing cold air, and added a drop in panel filter. I got the responsiveness i was looking for for less than 60 dollars (filter/ metal tube). Then u have exhaust parts like cats and silencers. I deleted my exaust and noticed less low end and more high end. May be in my head but ik theoretically the difference is there. Either way its a free way to make your car sound mean, but not every car will like the exaust delete. Simple bolt ons or free mods like mine can gain 10-20 hp with a tune especially for a car with a conservative tune. Best case scenario you have something like an i4 turbo like an ea888. Just a cold air intake and pipes can gain you 80 torque and 50 hp with proven results, but thats an expensive car and expensive parts. around 2000$ just for the downpipe/ catback, and tune.

Yeah I do have three project cars (Sonata NF 2007, previously a V6, 3.3 NA, now is a bit over 3.9, Turbod(its custom built general bearing, but damn spools FAST), a Peugeot 405, 1993, AWD with 2.0L Fuel injection engine, which I have not decided what to do with it, I have just done the body and interior (I'm toooo obsessed with it because I love it so much), and a Quick(it's from SAIPA and basically a Kia rio hatchback with a B5 Mazda engine(the cranckshaft is different from B5 and it has 8valve, 55whp), but I have bought her a Ford B6 cylinder head, a Mazda B5 crankshaft and Mazda B6 conrods (they are 3mm shorter and reduce the static compression ratio down to 7.9 and I know shortening conrods increases its bending angel, yet I live in Iran, here things are different thanks to the $|π¡ty regime!). Also I have a very neat Supercharger of a C200, 2006 Mercedes Benz, and by using some tricksI hope to have a smooth 200 WHP dyno graph! Yet this is my first supercharger experience and I have no idea what would be the result! Finally I have turbod my V2 racebike(Hyosung GT250R) with Renault Capture turbocharger and MegaSquirt 2 standalone ECU.

Jesus was a man who performed real miracles, rose from the dead, per eyewitness accounts of many thousands of people, and truly is who he says he is 😊 - The Son of God - and it is through the perfect life he lived, doing the will of God, that he was a worthy lamb ( metaphorically ) to shed his blood in a sacrifice that would pay the debt of everyone's eternal hell, all those who choose to trust Him as their savior ( believing that his sacrifice was the real deal, and took the wrath of God (the same God that sent Jesus in the first place to be the sacrifice) and satisfied it) and Lord :> amen!! And you, have a good blessed day!! 😁

Headers, up pipe, turbo back exhaust, actual cold air intake, injectors, fuel pump, and a turbo blanket. Throw all of that together with a tune and some good heat management and you will be at the limit of what your stock bottom end will handle. When I say heat management I don't just mean throwing some ebay wrap on your headers, though even that will help. I mean wrap every part of the exhaust system up to the muffler, that will give you the highest exhaust gas velocity possible with your setup. If you really want to see huge improvements gasket match and polish all of it. You can add a lot of horsepower without even taking apart the engine. You don't need crazy expensive parts either, a cold air intake is just a tube with a filter on it, and exhaust is just a tube that can handle the heat. So long as you take the time to make sure there is no turbulence or restrictions and the welds are good a $200 set of ebay headers will work just fine.

I always had this thought that every engine can only take so much before it blows up. A plucky little I3 from a Mitsubishi Mirage? Yeah, I fear putting any kind of forced induction on this thing. Until proven otherwise, I do think having DOHC is better for forced induction. Please correct me if I'm wrong.
