Nissan Elgrand E50 (1997 - 2002) REVIEW 2019 import to the UK | Could be better?

After looking over the Elgrand E51 I thought it would be a good idea to take a look at my own Elgrand E50. This is more of a comparison video than a stand alone. Japanese imports offer great value in the UK market and with the post diesel revolution under way, petrol cars and becoming popular again.

I enjoyed making those. They seemed to get a better response than my Mondeo video........ mind you, anything is getting less down-voted than that. I could do with a Honda Elysion or a Toyota Alphard to compare it to. Not had access to one yet.

I love it too more than my E51 Rider when I need parts at least for the engine the Nissan Pathfinder is compatible but the suspension you have to order through febest which I got most of the parts from but doesn't last long because of poor quality.

Appears to have more driver leg room than the 51 due to the console not petruding out as far. Also no cat issue 👍 I need to sit and drive both though to know for sure.

I am considering getting E50 3.2 diesel auto with 135k on the clock. The van looks brilliant and the current owner says its flawless. Would you recommend I checked on anything specific with those when I get to see it? Do you think the diesel auto version would be a bit better with mpgs? Great video, thanks!

The Diesel version is better on fuel. It would be a good idea to join the Elgrand owners club. They are very supportive and should offer some good advice on buying and general things to look for.

No this was not designed in the 80s. The outlets are nice. You can plug in a console maybe.

...my elgrand e50 the reversing camera have stopped working , would you know if it goes via a relay switch...

I've not had any experience with this fault. It's maybe worth trying the Elgrand Owner's forum. I've found them to be very helpful.

It broke my heart but I had to sell it. :-( Lucky for me I talk to the new owner every now and then. He's polished it up nice, added some decorative vinyl and is considering an LPG conversion. I'm glad the E50 got a new owner that takes good care of it. Only repair he's had is a new front spring so far.

Can tell adults fit in the second and third row? can a 6 footer fit in the second row It looks like the seat slide

The seats do slide back and forth. Obviously things get tight for the back row passengers though. It'll feel a bit weird in there being over 6ft though. The seats were designed for the average Japanese buyer so they can feel ill proportioned to people of larger stature. I didn't have this problem being a shortarse.
