Enjoy the video guys. I tried to make it as clear and quick as possible.

I just replaced our oil yesterday, and our oil looked about the same. You still have the factory skid plate!! Ours tore off many oil changes ago lol Congrats on 100 subs!!

Thanks dude we’re growing! What brand oil did you use? Yeah I bend the skid plate all the time hitting rocks. It’s pretty cool because it bends right back and never looks damaged. It’s flexible metal. Really clever by Nissan. It’s not too fancy like other trucks where you’re worried about damaging it.

@@desertdudechannel I used valvoline high mileage this time because its what's on sale and available. I also finally pulled our radiator support out from my wifes accident a few months ago. Strapped up to a sturdy tree with a 500lb ratchet strap and kept cranking till it pulled out straight. I was surprised how much it took to pull it out.

I installed a charcoal air filter. It helped. I remove the front skid plate before changing the oil. It's so much easier that way & easier on the cleanup as well.

Yeah it’s a mess on the skid plate for sure. I usually just wipe it down afterwards!

I always vacuum inside the air filter chamber before changing the air filter. Seen leaves and debris inside the box.

Yes you are right but I’m lazy and end up getting in dirty by the next week anyways. 😂

Awesome videos. Question on the cabin filter cover; I could be clumsy so is there a trick to disengaging the cover? In the past many years ago while removing the cover from a wagon I used to own, the cover catch mechanism broke in my hand. Would hate the same to happen here. The frontier is a more better quality vehical but I would rather be safe than bull headed. Thanks. Oh! my pro4x has leather seats. Any suggestions on best way to care for them? Might be a video idea too.
@desertdudechannel3 жыл бұрын
For sure it’s tricky not to break the lid. You have to push the release lever down but I’ll make a video thanks for the idea. The leather seats are pretty strong I probably wouldn’t worry about them!

Does that oil filter help or stop the start up rattle that these engines have for you? Great video 👍
@desertdudechannel2 жыл бұрын
The startup rattle gets worse after 2000 miles with the oil breakdown. When you first change the oil the rattle is minimal. It’s very hard to mitigate the rattle. Thanks for watching!

I don’t think that the oil filter makes as much of a difference as fresh oil. I try to change it every 2000 miles mitigate rattle.

Nice video! I need to change mine soon. Any reasoning behind the 10w-30?
@desertdudechannel4 жыл бұрын
Thanks dude! I like the 10w-30 for the higher temps that I live in. It rarely gets cold so I’m good with that oil. I also get great gas mileage with it. 23 mpg now

I've stuck to oem Nissan oil filters they're built pretty good after watching oil filters and how bad some after market ones are my truck did respond better driving with a oem filter, haha like if you can get the oem filter why not I buy mines off Amazon I just like oem for filters, after what I used before back in my first frontier I had before I totaled it frame filters are worst made filters omg haha
@desertdudechannel3 жыл бұрын
You can’t go wrong with Nissan OEM. The new Fram filters are much Better than the old ones!!
