Great looking rig and video content man. I also have the ADO Koni set up with added leaf in rear and the ride off and on road is amazing. Towing is still great too! The best truck I've had in a while and I just came off of an unreliable POS Chevy ZR2 lol This truck is underappreciated as a platform. I have the exact same air-down tool as well but I don't like how slow it is so I just remove the valve stems now. Definitely digging the build man

Love the truck man. I'm in the process of doing the same for my 2005. Got it in mint condition with 150k and it looked like it had never seen a dirt road, but I went bumper to bumper with all maintenance items, now comes the fun stuff. Got my lift, high clearance uppers, winch mount and winch, rock sliders and new tires. Can't wait to get it all installed this weekend.

Loved the video. What's the overall lift here? 2" rear and 2.5" front? I take it, it doesn't rub on 285's? That rear bumper is a real nice peice as well. Check out my gen 3 overland build on mine
@TheAdventureZombie Жыл бұрын
All Dogs heavy springs up front, ADO Parabolic springs in the rear with Koni 90s for a 2.5" lift overall, and I added a 1/2" spacer up front to level the truck. Also running ADO high clearance UCAs, no rubbing after some minor trimming up front and the Melt Mod. Thanks!

I'm very interested in those bumpers. I looked at their website and I see that are weld together kits. Did you weld them yourself? It'd be a good excuse to finally learn to weld, but I wouldn't want to get in over my head. Also, did they provide specific instructions for cutting the bedsides or was it up to you to figure it out? I have ~3"suspension lift and 2" body so I'm interested in going from 33" to a 35" tire when I start the next round of upgrades.

@TheAdventureZombie Жыл бұрын
Get the SV and then put your own better suspension on it. You'll be lacking a locker still, but you'll come in under the Pro-4X price and you can always add one later.

Thr question is how do these compare to a Tacoma value wise. We almost bought a xtera but there was absolutely no dealer support for 100 miles due to the local dealer going bankrupt over some corrupt dealings
@TheAdventureZombie Жыл бұрын
Value wise they are great. Costs less than a Taco and you can use all the money you save to build it out. That being said there aren't as many aftermarket parts for these, but they are still solid rigs.
@TheAdventureZombie Жыл бұрын
Probably another $10-12k after the suspension, bumpers, locker swap, and wheels tires/misc.
@TheAdventureZombie Жыл бұрын
I got mine from a Nissan parts puller out of AL by the name of Duncan Mills. Price will vary depending on what he can find, but for me I got an M226 rear end with 3.692 gears for my 33" tires and a matching geared R180 front diff for $2k shipped, and then another $400ish to do bearings and paint on the rear. I did all the labor, so that was just blood sweat and tears.
@AndrewM83 Жыл бұрын
The 2nd generation Nissan frontier was probably one of the best vehicles Nissan made in my opinion. Earlier years had some issues but 2010-2019 we're solid.

Nice vid! I'm rocking a similar Frontier SV, and just getting into trail driving. I'm curious, did you add a locker of any kind? Or are you still running the standard open diffs? Because the traction seems really good on that climb.
@TheAdventureZombie Жыл бұрын
Running open diffs in this video, however I have just ordered a locking rear end, so that will be a thing in the future :) I attribute my grip to my Cooper Discoverer STT Pros, I'm loving these tires :)

I just bought a 2018 frontier SV LWB. Love the truck so much. Took it through some serious deep slushy snow and it performed admirably. Can't wait to raise it up a but for clearance. And eventually get at least a rear locker!
@TheAdventureZombie Жыл бұрын
That's pretty much what I did. I did the All Dogs Offroad Koni lift with the high clearance UCAs, then bought an M226 Locking rear with 3.692 gears and a matching R180 front diff and it's been a game changer.
