Part 2 - More testing. This time with a GoPro Hero 10 as the video source. Recorded in 4K/30. Testing various settings and mounting positions so please excuse the angles.
Five mics hooked up to a Zoom H6 recorder - Two in the engine bay, binaural mics in the cabin, and one wireless mic on the license plate frame for the exhaust.
Each independent audio source was then blended in Premiere Pro. This video is more exhaust-forward sounding compared to the previous video.
0:00 - 4:55 - Warm up and getting dialed in
4:56 - Begin freeway driving
6:50 - Getting ready for first pull. Low boost with exhaust valves open.
8:05 - Freeway pull on high boost
9:25 - Downshift coming to a stop
9:45 - Normal driving with exhaust valves closed
10:40 - High boost pull with exhaust valves closed
12:00 - Cruising to the hum of the Toyo R888R tires

In person, are the turbos really that audible in the cabin?

Yes, in person, the Xona turbos are quite audible in the cabin especially during part throttle and spool up.

@SniperX 2014 these turbos utilize the stock manifolds so they're still internally gated with Tial actuators. As of the most current timed runs, the 60-130s are in the 5.2x range.

@@curtisdickson6277 I'm at 6.2k ft elevation which usually means the turbos on the car are working at least 20% harder than someone in most parts of TX or near sea level. That gets the turbos to produce different sounds such as the on-throttle surge noises and the louder/longer BOV effect. I wouldn't intentionally try to reproduce that because it's a byproduct of a negative effect of being at elevation more than anything else.
