I still don't understand why reviewers go on so much about soft touch materials. Yes, it's nice to have leather seats, steering wheel, gear lever and a few other essential touch points, but who really cares for and spends much time touching the top of the dashboard, door mounted arm rests, centre console, glove box, etc. As long as the controls and switches work well and are solid and last, that's important. Anyway, "hard" plastics are more durable in real life and clean easier. Additional, if they don't fade in the sun, then they will look as much as they did when you bought the car and when you go to sell it. These are budget cars and so expect budget materials. But otherwise a good review, covers many points accurately. However, the boot space rating of 550 litres is misleading. That's the same size as a Honda CR-V and trust me, that's a mistake. The Juke does have a removable boot floor for additional storage.

Spot on with the comments about the interior materials. They're not great, but one thing I've found is that they don't attract dust as much as the better quality ones. I've had my Juke for nine months now; it's never been valeted, but the cabin still looks almost showroom clean. Many of the other cars I've owned would be filthy after that length of time. I'm sure it's a case of unintended consequences, but there are times when cheap is better.

Picking my Juke Tekna up on Sat, it may be a marmite car, but I love it

The inside doesn't have the same "conviction" because you are reviewing a mid spec model. I am just about to get my Juke Tekna and it is leather interior, heated seats, comfortable arm rests etc.

My dad had one of the these, 1.5dci. Engine was gutless on motorway, i dont care for plastic interior but when its realy ugly aswell. I did not like it and the sound quality from the speakers was woeful. Outside its looks fine but get inside and its a major put off. The juke finaly went when it broke down and the electrics went funny on it. I recovered it in my 2004 suzuki liana estate 1.6 with over 170k on the clock at the time and i think its the first time the juke ever got 50mph without full throttle 😂.
