We've had our leaf for a year now, 16000 miles and it's our main car. We're never have an internal combustion car again especially with the new leaf having 155 mile range. Got to say though, we never plan anything to do with charging, we wing it and so far have been lucky 😊 Great vid, hope for some more, enjoy the car.

Good song at the end! Thanks for sharing! Thinking about buying a 2016 Leaf in a month or so. 107 mile range should be less range anxiety.
@JamesMoore6279 жыл бұрын
FYI The 'lock' and 'auto' settings don't apply to the rapid charge port. This is controlled by the charger in these situations. It locks while charging and unlocks when it's finished. Charging can only be stopped with your card or if someone hits the big red emergency stop button.
@13thCP5 жыл бұрын
Up to 80% that was roughly 41kw charge rate which is pretty good on the Chademo for that 24kwh leaf. Wish they would use the CCS standard but that won't happen. Any idea if they've put in any Chademo 2.0 stations there? That bumps it up to 400kw rate if it supported it. Looking at a 2016 leaf s right now, hopefully will have it by end of day!

If you keep the car to yourself (for longer than 60 000 miles or smth) use battery saving mode if more is not needed.

+Electric Leaf Man Thanks for the reply :). we are thinking of getting one for my wife's daily commute. She does about 50 miles around trip. we are worried about the range in winter as she will have our 9 month old baby with her. We are looking at a used 24kwh. Do you think we will be okay? thanks
@ElectricVehicleMan8 жыл бұрын
You'd have to try hard to get below 65miles tbh. Just make sure it's an Acenta or Tekna model LEAF as the Visia has the old heatpump that sucks range in winter. The Acenta or Tekna have a new gen pump which only loses 5-10miles when very cold. Whats your budget?
@ThatElectricLife8 жыл бұрын
+Electric Leaf Man Aw thanks for the info. so she hypothetically she drove like a boy racer with the climate control blasting we shouldn't get below 65ish range? Budget wise, looking at around £12-13k. I've seen a Tekna I like but it's in Glasgow so be a crazy drive home lol

How long the battery will be retained its capacity ?
@markplain25558 жыл бұрын
Apparently if you charge only up to 80% and don't discharge lower than 20% the battery will last for ever (this is not the same as a cell phone battery). But I don't do that, I just unplug and drive and don't really pay attention to baby'ing the car. Nissan guarantees the battery for 8 years, so I should be good. I know of people who after 4 years of driving have lost 1 bar that means probably your range has gone down by about 10 to 20kms
@ElectricVehicleMan8 жыл бұрын
24kw Leaf has a 5 year warranty, the 30kw has 8. There's no real way of knowing as none are old enough. They can be refurbed though so always get them back to full strength. Don't forget there are many batteries on the Leaf, not just 1 big one.
@markplain25558 жыл бұрын
And I'm starting to see 'aftermarket' batteries on the market now. For $2,000 you can extend the range by 50kms. Sounds like a lot of money but for what you save on fuel, it' actually worth it. I don't need an additional 50kms of range so need for the extra battery.

Hi All, i have just looked on Glyn Hopkins website and a New Leaf is nearly £30k, thats way above what i want to pay, a s/h one is nearly 20k now, they seemed to have doubled in price in about 2 years...a few years about s/h was 7 to 10k and new was 17k...things changed a bit....somebody making a lot of money somewhere....Fred. Perhaps you should correct your electricity cost.... you started with a full battery charge AT HOME! Let's be fair to those who are considering an EV. Also if you're not an ecotricity customer, you now have to pay for charging!
@ElectricVehicleMan8 жыл бұрын
I know. This video is over a year old. Check out my others. As for the cost, I'm sure people can withstand the £2.11 for the full charge.

Oyi!!!?? Why don't you put the car in 'B' mode and have some of the down hills charge the car?? I have the same model and colour as you except my car's steering wheel is on the left side of the car. And as a secret, I also listen to aha while I drive (I think we're about the same age). I want to get a large bumper sticker that reads, "Stop the gas price sodomy. Go electric" I know you have a different word for gas but who cares what the word is considering we are both using Volts, Amps, Watts and electrons.
