Hey chap bit of a top regarding the speed sensor/ abs sensor. My mate as an MQ triton with electronic 4wd selector he had the same issues ripped out a wire in to the senior in the rear and was stuck in L4 where we were if he stated in L4 it would have taken dats to get out. We disconnected the battery selected 2wd then reconnected the battery and then to get it back in to 4wd did the same disconnected the battery selected 4low connected the battery. We had to do that 4-5 times to get out. Incase it ever happens again might be an option Worth trying for you or any others 🤙🏻🤙🏻

Good vid, thanks. I service my 2014 Ranger every 10K mate. I got a Brown Davis 140L long range tank. Heavy duty steel tank. Very happy with it, definitely look into one in the future. Fully fuelled adds considerable weight to left hand side, but with appropriate rear suspension set up, no dramas with sag or lean. Running EFS XTR rear shocks and 300kg constant leaf springs, not as much flex as your rear coil set up 🤣
@TylerThompson90
@TylerThompson90 4 жыл бұрын
Sounds like a good set up mate! I'll definitely have to look into getting a long range tank when I can

Hey Tyler, Yeah, over in Malaysia, mine runs on the YD25, book says 20K km or 6 months, I’ll never hit that kinda cycle. I just stick to 6 months, usually it will be at 10K km. Oh yeah, the rear diff, not sure if you have re-route the diff breather, it actually only reach into the ladder frame.
@TylerThompson90
@TylerThompson90 4 жыл бұрын
Yeah 10K or 6months is a good time frame for servicing it I think. And yep on the rear diff we changed the breather so it goes into the top of the engine bay now

I had the same problems, long links are required, I was breaking them on every trip, I also pushed the tires out, but then they rubbed on the inner back side. So I had to do some trimming. The other thing that breaks a lot is the power steering belt, it’s very low and mud damages it.

G'day Tyler good video mate. I change my oil every 5000 but it's a lot more difficult on your car to change the filter because that motor inn yours was designed as an east west engine. Nissan increase the bore diameter and adapted it to the D 23. Cheers

I would be interested on how the warranty would be kept\apply if not having the car serviced by Nissan? I know they charge a ripoff but am hesitant that if I go elsewhere my warranty would be voided.
@TylerThompson90
@TylerThompson90 4 жыл бұрын
As long as you get it serviced by a certified mechanic who stamps your log book and follows the servicing schedule then the warranty will still be all good through Nissan. Just if you service at your local dealer and get to know them they might be willing to help with warranty on a personal level

10,000 ? Or for oil every 5,000 if you’re going to keep it past the warranty period or long term
@TylerThompson90
@TylerThompson90 4 жыл бұрын
Obviously everyone has different opinions and do what suits you but the general consensus I've learnt is 10 thousand km oil on your newer 4wds, especially with modern fully synthetic oils, maybe 5000 on your older ones. They recommend 20 thousand in the log book but I personally wouldn't go that long
@lastknownlocation8760

Tyler Thompson oil is cheap. But yes everyone has their own opinion
@lastknownlocation8760
@lastknownlocation8760 4 жыл бұрын
Tyler Thompson the best way to find out if 10k is good is do two oil samples. One at 5k and another at 10k It costs around $50 from memory. Any truck dealer should have the kits in stock. Take a sample and post it off and they’ll email you the results. That way you’ll know for sure if there’s any deterioration of the oil between 5 and 10. Cheap way to find out early in the vehicles life.

two things mate... The placement of the spare is the worst ever - just like my Glamarok - do you remove it first for ease of access ever? AND... Would your old Nav (without a lot of mods) have made it in Tassie, or did your mods and rear locker on the newy make it possible? Cheers.
@TylerThompson90
@TylerThompson90 4 жыл бұрын
Nope I just leave it there mate, out of the way and I've only used the spare once in about 4-5 years of off roading so not a regular occurrence. Old nav still would have done most of it, it was slightly more capable then dads MUX and it still went most places. Just wouldn't have been able to do the Lake Cumberland track

With your tyres rubing in the front are they a 0 offset
@TylerThompson90
@TylerThompson90 4 жыл бұрын
Im not 100% sure because they are just the factory ones, but I'm pretty sure they are +10 or +20. They aren't 0 though
@georgesdesk
@georgesdesk 4 жыл бұрын
Tyler Thompson as you mentioned in your video, a different offset would resolve the minor rubbing on full lock
@einfelder8262
@einfelder8262 4 жыл бұрын
Moving the wheel to a more -ive offset will increase the arc the tyres describe, and may cause the tyre to rub on the recovery point or the wheel arch instead. You would need to do the rears as well, which will cause significant extra rubbing over what you already get.
