Engine and gearbox are in. Also managed to get in what I have from exhaust and both driveshafts. Now some time will be needed to clean everything up and then the body part will come in the picture.
Support me with a cup of coffee :) ko-fi.com/thec...
When installing clutch Nm I used:
Flywheel - 137 - 157 Nm; 101 - 116 Ft-Lb
Clutch Cover - 22 - 29 Nm; 16 - 22 Ft-Lb

BTW, nobody does a restoration in a week 😁 that only happens on TV shows! You're doing great work. Just for the sake of helping with the name of things, the flywheel is the high mass disk bolted to the engine. It is heavy to help keep torque. The part that bolts on top of the clutch disk and spring force the clutch disk onto the flywheel is called pressure plate.

You always helping me me with the naming, and I appreciate that! Because maybe this would help not only me but someone stumble upon this video and think what the hell is he talking about, then they have the comment section to fall back on! So really, thank you for that :)

hi, thanks for your works,; very interesting. For the drive shatft it works like that, but maybe you should put the front drive shaft in the over way to avoid water/dirt to comes through when you run in the mud for example. Greetings from France

😮 WoW, good point, didn't think about that! Will look in to that and most likely change!

Yeah, I second you on the driveshaft. The solid part goes to the axle and the moving part (sleeve) goes towards the transfer case.

Buddy gimme some idea about the part on 9:40 mins. U mentioned its hand brake. Its that supposed to be on rear wheels.
@thecrazylatvian
@thecrazylatvian 4 жыл бұрын
The "CENTER BRAKE" in this case and yes, 95% of cars has there handbrake on rear wheels. The same system was found in "Volga" (Russian car) they had handbrake on gearbox. Also Citrones had there handbrake on front wheels. I already was confused the first time with this car but long time ago when I encountered Citroen with front handbrake, you can imagine what happens when you lock your wheels going in a turn :D Not sure about the reasoning and what is considered better but yes. Mine is on center and stops the rear axle and basically gearbox. So no e-brake on turns, use the beautiful rear wheel drive :)

@@mkhan2109 You made my day! This is exactly why I make these videos. To help people. I know that quality isn't the best, but I will save up some money and buy a normal camera and spend some time getting to know about "film making" more. For now I do what I do and am very happy to see that people can learn something new!

Are you going to turbo the tb42?
@thecrazylatvian
@thecrazylatvian 4 жыл бұрын
I have RD28T Diesel engine (If I'm correct then TB42S\E was a petrol engine). So I already have my turbine, only will take it to restoration. That big engine would be a dream, but I don't think I can afford the road fee and the fuel consumption :D
@cidadaodorense3231

You got me curious with the road fee comment. Do you have to pay yearly taxes based on the engine displacement or maybe on the amount of horsepower? In Brazil we pay yearly taxes as a fixed percentage of the vehicle market value. Cheaper vehicle, cheaper tax.

I lately don't know whats up with my channel, I don't get any notifications about comments ;( Sorry that I missed you question. Yeah, here in Latvia we have real dumb system with road fees. If you have a big engine then you have a big tax. Also that depends on year. I see more logic in your system, then ours. But our road department is interested only in getting more money, no logic there. We had oldies tax. For instance if you have extra old car then you get a cheap tax, because it's "old school". They quickly change that and put on that you need to do multiple commissions to get the retro status, because at that point, half of nation was driving 25+ year old cars :D

It's RD28T, the 2.8 Turbo diesel. Nothing special, not the best engine, but I must make due with what I have :)

I am debating on a rb28 or td42 swap.

@@mkhan2109 My recomendation if you plan the engine swap forget TD42 - to heavy, to old, to much fuel consumption, to much milage most of units got already. Go for BMW M57 or Mercedes OM613-in Island and Nordics this one is one of first swap choice to patrol
@thecrazylatvian
@thecrazylatvian 4 жыл бұрын
@Masrur Khan Definitely BMW M57. That's the only swap you need to think of! 3.0L, More power, more torque. Less fuel consumption. Not the most expensive unit out there, because at least here you can get the BMW with that engine for reasonable price. I can't even think of any flaw in that swap. Plus there is no problem to buy a mount to connect that engine to Patrol gearbox. If I have extra money to spend on my car, then after all the stuff I'm planing on doing, that would be first in line.
