Soooo, what was the outcome of this, I have the same issue major vibration under power /;had due to a bad CVT . Funissan how did you ended u dealing with the problem? did Nissan take care of you,,,

Hello everyone. I wanted to comment on this one. I have a 2010 Rogue that was just purchased and has the same issue. After being told it is the mounts and then the transmission, i decided to take it to a friends shop to look at it myself. We diagnosed that both front control arms were bad for sure and also the axles. when spinning the tires by hand on the passenger side it would happen in the same spot. We figured it was the axles fighting each other internally or the trans. I want to report that the axle fixed my issue as well as the broken control arms. i hope this helps with further diag work on your cars.

If u lift the vehicle and spin the wheel, on afew cars is normal the vehicle shakes for axle angle,if your vehicle is awd check the drive shaft ,to many times are the u joins and it shakes on 30 and 40mph

is solved by replacing the motor mounts, I had exactly the same problem. I recommend using original parts. change all four.

Replacement axle is under 100 bucks and requires NO skill to replace if you have access to 32mm and 12mm sockets and a impact gun..Lower ball joint prys loose with some effort and NO OTHER parts need be removed! I have 131k miles and had to replace three times so far..The slightest damage to a boot lets water in and destroys the axle. Cheapo boots.

CV half-shaft is bad. That noise is typical for front wheel drive cars with high mileage. If you turn left, a bad right CV shaft will get noisier, turn right, vise versa for the left shaft if it's bad. They aren't too difficult to replace. A lot easier if you can get the car in the air.

can a car drive like this without completely breaking? I'm currently driving cross country to visit family for Christmas and this exact problem sprung on me 800 miles from anywhere. I've been driving it all day anyway, but I don't want to break down. what is the likely hood of the driveshaft completely breaking?

Had bad vibrations coming from the front right of the rogue every time I would accelerate and bake. It was a warped rotor and bad engine mounts

I also had vibration on low rpm. Took it to the dealer and they replaced the driveshaft. Now its seems to be normal again.

Mine was shaking very bad when stopped at a red light. I would feel it in my whole body, even my water bottle would vibrate in the cup holder.lol I hated driving the damn car. I went in and got a idle relearn done by the dealer who hooked my car up to a computer. Now the car is idling smooth as silk. Its a little rough when accelerating. But it is what it is...Nissan cars are generally not quiet cars and are cheaply made compared to other similar priced cars that dampen vibrations better.

I work at a shop that works for nissan and i just had a 09 nissan rogue with a similar problem. I didn't really hear the ticking sound that you hear in this video but a vibration starting at 40km/h going all the way up to 80 or more I felt like it is the driveshaft or the transaxle

I had rotational vibration, and setup this test as in the video. The vibration was much more intense, and at any speed while hoisted in this manner, however was not the same vibration felt on the road test. So I jack the rear and supported with stand, then jacked the front. I pulled the right front tire so I could support the right front control arm as far out as possible to bring the control arm as close to "normal driving angle" as possible. The extreme shaking , and binding from the axle was now gone. and only the vibration I felt on the road test was there. This vibration ONLY happens when hoisted with the wheels hanging. If this vehicle were supported at the lower ball joint so that the front axles were at their correct angle, this shake/ binding would NOT occur. As the front wheels hang from the car the lower control arm pulls the wheel inward as well and forces the CV shaft to bottom in the inner cup causing the binding, and vibration you see. (I almost replaced the the right front axle after doing this same setup). Thankfully I had the years of experience to know that the vibration felt from about 30 to 45 mph, was more like drive shaft speed not axle speed. turned out to be a stiff u-joint at the rear of the propeller shaft for the rear wheels. .

2008 rogue sl fwd, Hello, I have the same problem, my engine vibrates from side to side, the difference is that my rogue is fwd. do you would think that the engine mounts need to be replaced?. I will appreciate if you can give me your opinion about it. Thank you. Best regards

This question is not that simple to answer. What are the symptoms you are experiencing while driving on the road? (NOT while the car is hanging in the air)

Thanks for your answer, I did the same thing that you did, and the vibration ended, I put new tires alignment and balance is correct, I put a camera under the car and record when I was driving and I see that all the engine and transmission move from Side to side about half an inch or so, this vibration appears between 15 and 20 miles per hour, and almost does not feel at high speed. For that reason I think that the engine supports although they do not show significant deterioration need to change, my car has 130000 miles. Thank you. Something additional, the vibration is felt in the front on the floor of the car, not in the steering wheel or brakes.

I do have same problem, since the vehicle was new, took it back to dealership and same answer they can't duplicate the symptom and was told that it is a normal operation for this type of vehicle. did you filed a complaint?

Nissan North America willfully placed a do not inspect or repair order on my rogue. in short it can not be repaired and i have filed a lawsuit and will peruse a class action. I SUGGEST YOU TAKE IT TO YOUR LOCAL NISSAN DEALERSHIP AND ASK IF YOU CAN SEE YOUR ROGUE UP ON A HOIST RUNNING AT IDLE IN DRIVE. IF THEY WONT DO THAT TAKE IT TO A GAS STATION THEN HIRE A LAWYER.

This is due to running your wheels with the suspension completely unloaded, which over extends the angle on your CVs. The rogue is figuratively speaking a sentra with a lift kit, any 4wd owner with a lift will experience this with a new suspension. this is also made obvious by the 3 clunks per axle rotation, this is the joint locking up, pushing against the suspension and directing the force back to the engine mounts (the wobbling that you see). look on the bright side, its an indicator your struts are in really good shape. find a good mechanic, even for your future cars. There are few things the stealerships are good at besides sucking money from you for mediocre service wrapped in a flashy bow.

Mine cracked at 99K, but I am 2 years over my warranty. Fighting with them as we speak. Drive shafts shouldn't go bad.

The driveshaft on my dad's 2009 Rogue was replaced in September 2017 after driving it for 7 months with a bad U-joint. The car was purchased in April 2016 with 118,000 miles. It now has 131,900 miles as of June 17, 2018.

I have a 2013 Rogue and had a similar issue, it seems like the best corrective action is to find a nice brick wall and crash into it. The Rogue is a POS.

I just recently bought an '09 Rogue in Michigan and I am suffering from the same mild vibration between 20 - 40 mph. Did you ever receive a resolution in the courts? Or figure out if there is a mechanical fix to this?

John Toivonen the speed vibration is usually caused by the right passanger CV joints.

I have the same problem and the spindle came off the lower arm when the axle broke I almost crashed.

Replace both CV joints and all motormounts... should be good as new

Why you keep on stopping only the left wheel? Try the right wheel too and see if the vibration gets less. As the saying goes: There is no substitution for intelligence 😂

i have a nissan rogue 2009 and it started with the same problem, it's shaking and no body can say what's the problem, im so disappointed, i just want to change for a better car.

Dori i would suggest you to take it to your Nissan dealer and ask them to put it up on the hoist and have them put it in drive at idle and see if it shakes as seen on the video. if it does and they say theirs nothing wrong i would suggest give them the opportunity to repair if not start a lemon law suit. make sure you see it your self

In my Michigan Lemon Law Suit Nissan refused to 1. repair per BBB case for last repair 2. Nissan refused to repair per escalated BBB hearing order to repair 3. Nissan lost in court 3 to 0 judgment 4. Nissan could not repair the Rogue within my 39 month Lease in which the first complaint was filed within the 2nd week of lease inception

You are making the ABS pulsate, it was not designed to run on the lift. Plus that lift does not hold the car perfectly still when it is running. I have been checking cars on lifts for 30+ years and they all cause the lift have a harmonic vibration.
