Thanks for this video- it helped me diagnose and fix the heat control problem on my 2005 Xtrail. In my case the loop on the end of the cable was off the pin. Once I got in there with long pliers and popped the loop back in place it all worked!

A great tip in this video is to consider both zip ties and twist ties, when making repairs like this one. If one doesn't work, perhaps the other will. Also, don't forget about small hose clamps, like the band type with worm screw. A clamp like that may sometimes make a decent cable-retention clamp.

What the name of that clip that hold the wire I'm missing that clip
@RichTones4 жыл бұрын
Not sure of the exact name but some sort of cable clip for the climate control. I ended up modifying and drilling holes for zip ties to hold it

I'm not familiar with the design if they are the same or not. Its easy enough to take apart and look inside to see if its the same or if you need an alternate solution.

What do you if you ziptied the cable firm, and the vent selctor still doesn't work? In December 2020, my vent selector was stuck on the instrument panel vents. I watched this video and was able to fix the problem by ziptying the loose cable. Now almost two years later, my vent is stuck on the defogger. I figured the cable just got loose again, so I repeated the steps in this video, but the cable is still ziptied firm, so I am not sure where the problem is. Do you have any idea what could be causing the air to be only coming out of the defogger? Thank you in advance for any help! And thank you again for helping me out two years ago!
@RichTones2 жыл бұрын
I'm glad it helped you previously and not quite sure without seeing yours. I don't have the car anymore so working from memory. It could be that the physical vent baffle is stuck or perhaps the cable is not moving it from that end. Good luck friend.

Wow. I just did the exact same thing to fix mine two days ago! I had to do both the temperature control and the airflow control. I mean. I did exactly the same thing on both sides. Two zip ties on each side. Great minds think alike! Is it still holding up on your car? I am hoping it’ll hold for a while, but I get the feeling it’s just temporary.
@RichTones4 жыл бұрын
It held up for a least another year but then we traded the car in. Thanks for watching.

Yo hilarious! You also have a Dual aftermarket radio! Piece of trash brand, as the one I installed in my Sentra seems to have an internal short which cause radio to stop working after a few days. The only way I could get radio to work again is to remove the entire unit from dash and remove fuse from radio. Stupidly I bought another Dual for a Kia Sedona and that had its screen crap out after barely a couple of years. Great video about the HVAC unit otherwise...
@RichTones Жыл бұрын
The Dual was worth more than the car practically. It had Bluetooth to link my daughter phone when it was her starter car. Thanks for watching 👌
