2:00 in is where people need to focus on. IT WILL NOT BE NOTICABLE visibly that the hose is cracked, you must get a flashlight and feel around. The dealer wanted $4800 to fix the CVT transmission, a local shop wouldnt touch it because he knew Altima's were challenging to fix when this happens. It was not our brake sensor, nor the MAF being dirty...it was this hose. Sometimes a simple and diligent inspection of a car is necessary before taking it to a stealer. Look for frayed wires, loose hoses, low fluids, things the average person can do. This was a surprisingly expensive part at $50, but well worth it to solve this issue. Imagine pulling out onto a busy highway and your car just stops accelerating? CHECK YOUR HOSE TODAY! **Thank you for posting this**

@@JohnFixes I goes beyond that. This car actually belongs to an elderly family member who just lost her husband. She doesn't have any money, and since her husband passed she had had to replace a pressure regulator, a washer, had her roof start leaking, her sidewalk lifting up from freeze thaw, and many odd medical issues herself. She wasn't going to pay that money for that old of a car which otherwise looks new and runs great with nice features like heated leather seats. When I fixed this she stressed for weeks after it couldn't possibly be the solve, the garage people wouldn't take advantage of an old lady. So you made her day as well. Ours was cracked in three places. I found a few more items to address while inside the hood but nothing major. All set now, except a deer ran out in front of her so she's waiting until July when the shop can take her in.

My car started to not accelerate sometimes when I step on the gas fully. Like it gets revved then suddenly like jumps to speed. I checked that hose & it's cracked, could that be the cause? I was thinking it could be the CVT :(
@Scott-dn1bk Жыл бұрын
@@xCARPx2014it could be, but you could get this part and try it, if it doesn't fix it clean it and return it. It sounds like the air intake hose honestly. People are too quick to assume the cvt transmission is the problem.

Either way, get that hose fixed asap. The dirt it's pulling into your engine will grind it up! You'll start burning oil, smoking out the back, and worse....

There is a 5th and possibly 6th cause as well. (1) the brake light switch by the pedal could be sticking, causing the computer to read that both the throttle and brakes are being pressed at the same time. Then the computer limits the vehicle’s ability to accelerate. (2) the brake light relay, causing the same symptoms as said above

Hey! Don't forget to change your CVT fluid every 30K miles. Changing the fluid every 30K miles is recommended for EVERY Nissan/Infiniti model, per the factory Maintenance & Service Guide, regardless of transmission type: CVT, conventional automatic or manual. This will ensure smooth and problem-free operation of your Versa's CVT for many miles/years. Versas are great and extremely reliable when maintained and cared for properly.

2009 nissan altima, full visual inspection yielded nothing; my mechanic suspected the throttle body, as apparently they're known to go out easily. it turned out to be the speed sensor; it was shorting or had bad components. he was quick to tell me his dissatisfaction with this model for it's difficult-to-diagnose issues such as these 😅 hope this helps anyone having the same issue but can't see anything mentioned in the video!
