@bryanmartinez66005 жыл бұрын
Pretty much transmission oil will look almost new since it there is no combustion or contamination besides the clutch packs wear and the air ventilating into the transmission. Transmission fluid breaks down with heat and friction especially in the torque converter. My manual recommends drain and fill every 30 k miles I think. Its like saying diesel oil needs changing because of the soot that quickly makes it black. If it was based on color, diesel oil will be changed way too soon and transmission way too late.

@@bryanmartinez6600 Transmission has clutch packs and will definitely change color with wear and high heat burn.
@bryanmartinez66005 жыл бұрын
@@OOpSjm well I'm not sure how these work but say a 4L60e which has pistons that engage the clutches of it's slipping from either a leaking piston seal not fully engaging or it's overloaded and slipping excessively it will generate a lot of heat and due to the friction wear a lot of the clutch material into the fluid. So if it does turn dark, Transmission is going to need a rebuild due to either abuse or it's just worm. I did say mostly will look new but when it changes color that's really bad. Are there any rebuild manuals or diagrams for the Nissan Titan Transmissions? Not really anything available like the domestic.
