Also a word of advice for those that live in suburbia, it’s honestly not that loud from inside your home. There is multiple vehicles like Honda’s mustangs cameros ect with flow master that are way louder. And also the noise is very centralized to the area around the tailpipe, so if you have someone you don’t want to bother just park with the tail pipe facing away from them.

@@jimc.6127 you are absolutely right and that was a bit of concern. However, I bought my truck from Kirkland Nissan in June of 2019. It had been setting on the lot since March of 2018. Long story short, the dealership made some bad decisions on inventory and were giving these trucks away. I got my 2018 SV 4x4 with the SV utility package and such for 30k out the door! Thats with 6 and some change equity on a trade. Anyways that dealership got bought out by Lee Johnson Ford a few months later. For what i had invested in it, what funds i have to the side, Its worth the risk 🤷🏼‍♂️ plus a warranty is only as good as its value, the closet dealership with a diesel mech is 6 hours away. I do all my own maintenance and if something goofs ill pay for it out of pocket at a cummins shop or wherever. I will not own a truck with emissions, so the alternative would be spend 30k on a 5.9 with 150,000 miles+ and have no warranty, or buy this truck and take the risk. I totally agree with what your saying, however i feel in my case it made sense. Also, there were 17 more of these trucks from 2018 on their lot! Three people i work with also got XDs and they were the ones that pointed me that direction.

Granted mine is an S.L. with the full leather package, heated seats and all that garbage, it still doesn't seem worth it unless I get at least 300k from the Cummins diesel engine. Also the reviews on the Isen transmission are not good. Talk to me Carl.

@@jimc.6127 yeah leather would have been nice, the heated cloth seats are more of a joke than anything. I get more heat from the hatred inside me for them than i do from the heat itself. Look, no matter what forum you read whether its for Ford, GM, or Chrysler, its all shit and everyones truck grenades for no apparent reason blah blah whatever. Where i work, i get to experience ownership of all the different brand trucks because everyone has a diesel of some sort. Take care of the truck, dont do things to it that your not suppose to like haul 15k around. Follow the maintenance intervals as it calls for in the supplemental diesel manual and youll be fine. Theres 2 100k + XDs here on base, one is a 16 and the other is a 17. Both are fine. The 16 is deleted and the 17 is not. The 17 had egr cooler replaced twice. Other than that, no one with a XD that i know has any issues. Youll read in the XD forum alot of trash about the transmission, i wouldnt worry about it. Like i said youll find alot of the same comments about the other manufacturers. Just take care of your stuff

@@jimc.6127 also im not sure when you bought your truck, but 49 is totally worth it and a good deal. A comparable 1/2 ton like a silverado LTZ or ford lariat would have cost you 5-10k more than that and not even have a diesel or the specs our trucks have. Remember, the $9,xxx we paid for the cummins option includes the cummins motor itself, the entire emissions system that is required by law which isn't cheap and requires alot of R&D. A lift pump setup with a water fuel separator, a different power brake booster setup ect. All that adds up. Now are vehicles inflated and over priced? Absolutely, but i can see and justify the 10k difference over the 5.6 gasser

Did you have any trimming with the stock wheels? I went with 20x10’s and had to trim a little. But man it was worth it. Between the looks people give and the performance, it was a no doubter

@@6pacifico6 Yeah man fronts will not clear if you just throw 35x12.50 Grapplers on. You definitely have to do some trimming & grinding. I used spacers as well. I believe mines were .20 inch thick. Very well worth it for sure!

If you can get one low miles go for it, set aside 2,500 to 3,000 for EGR & DPF delete w tune and you wont regret it. Compared to 2500 and f250 the truck is huge just doesn’t have the big power and is ok because is not the same class of truck.

These Cummins XD's will likely go up in value in the future because of the rarity and unique factor. Too bad Nissan didn't stick with the diesel platform but the 2020+ gas job XD's are excellent underrated trucks as well and probably hit the mark a little better with who they are trying to sell these to.

How’s the drivability deleted? I test drove a Platinum Reserve 5.0 because I considered trading my 5th Gen 1500 for a diesel and we had one on the lot. Super underwhelmed, CEL came on after I floored it and the steering feel was horrendous. Hopefully they’ve been improved, lot of potential.

It’s a whole different truck deleted! Stock is laggy and slow. But then again it’s a truck I don’t expect it to be fast. Stock did good towing also though. These trucks love to be worked.

Not my truck! But I do own one myself. Lift on the truck is Rough Country 6 inch lift and 4 inch exhaust to 6 inch tip. Setup sure does look good👍🏼

I moved from California to Nye County in Nevada that has no smog requirements and own a 2017 Nissan Titan SL 5ltr Cummins Turbo diesel with 30k. I tow a 7.5k t.t. My questions are, why would anyone de-tune the engine on a truck with a 6 speed Isen transmission that is questionable for the stock engine? How easy and what is the cost? Does it improve mileage and how much? I carry 12 gallons of fuel because the fuel tank capacity is a freaking joke.

Once it’s deleted and tuned the truck runs a lot better and more efficiently no more regens & def fill ups. Mpg’s increases a bit also. I agree on the fuel tank capacity! As for cost to delete and tune just depends what brands you go with and it’s pretty easy to do it yourself especially with a helper.

@@jimc.6127 so in late 2019, the EPA really cracked down on performance shops creating non emission complaint tunes, pipes, ect. They are very hard to find now and not very explicit on what they are selling. However you can still purchase the pipe and tunes on ebay from these performance shops. The exhaust pipe is easy, its a slip joint at the tailpipe end and a three bolt flange at the down pipe. Undo all the sensors(i think there is 15 of them) and disconnect the line from the def injector. DBF & SCR comes out and straight pipe goes in. Most straight pipes come with prewelded fingers that slide into the factory mounting brackets for the exhaust. It would be a good idea to also place zip block freezer bags and zipties on all the connectors so that they dont get ruined in case you have to place the DBF&SCR back. Then using your EZLYNK tuner and unlock cable, install your tunes. Disconnect the egr and throttle valve and boom your good to go. Theres typically 5 tunes you can choose from, stock without emissions all the way to 150 added hp. I use the +60hp tune, seems to offer the best MPG, doesnt really black smoke unless you get on it hard and its cold outside, and i dont believe there to be any real risk with hurting the transmission. Hand calculated MPG hwy 20/21 no load flat 65mph. city 15.xx
