X trail is named ad Nissan Rogue in the US . I own it . Good vehicle so far . 201 HP with a great mileage. In US it comes as a 2 row vehicle. Good power for a Turbo 3 cylinder engine. CVT is responsive and driving dynamics are great . It's around 36000 USD in the USA ..

It is similar to US Rogue SL 2023 model with similar engine. Good to drive but there are complaints related to engine malfunction , reduced speed to 20 mph when there is an issue.

It's a X-TRAIL, a legendary car from Nissan. I understand that it is priced high but people must understand this cars engine is a engineering marvel. Imagine the R&D that would have gone towards building a reliable variable compression engine. It is like being in the initial days of Honda's vtech. I think this engine must be celebrated. And we rarely get made in japan cars in india at this price except for the lexuss. To me its a collectable and a car to cherish

I have 15 Years experience in consulting industry and lived in USA for some period of time. This car is sold in USA at much lesser cost around $35000 or Rs.26 lakhs. The road condition here in worst, petrol/diesel prices is very high, heavy traffic cause low mileage, unreasonable service charge and parts cost etc etc. The cost of cars today just don't justify their value to a prospective customer like myself. Maybe I'll settle for a second hand car from a individual seller (not dealer), and use public transit more often.

I just bought Xtrail in Dubai, its simply a awesome MPV with great performance. perfect for small medium family. I wish to buy the same back in home, but.... You might feel slight performance lagging because of CVT is new to india comparing traditional manual gear shifts. and one more great advantage of CVT is fuel consumption which is much needed in india. The only bad feel about the car is Interior is slightly not strong enough comparing earlier versions of xtrail. And finally for this price it’s an over rated vehicle in India 😢 that too 45lks is way much higher for this vehicle

this is the second review that l am exposed to regarding this new X-Trail from Nissan, you have done a very elaborate description about the 3 cylinder 1.5 turbo engine, with CVT gear box and thus have cleared a lot of apprehensions a petrol head might have regarding such a motor which has been chosen to drive a bulky looking SUV. Truly appreciate the totally unbiased way of presenting the vehicle to us car enthusiasts. As you repeatedly emphasised, the prospective driver should do a trial run of the car before getting further convinced about its drivability and the adequate power of such an engine. So wishing NISSAN all the best for its existence in India - we need lot of competition going in this sector to keep the Germans and Koreans on their toes and thus to keep the price war under a reasonable level of control. The cost of these cars are going up by the year with each new model - and thus getting away from the reachability of buyers who yearn to own them. Thanks to MotoWagon for bringing out such a reliable review based on pure analysis of the technology that comes with the vehicle. Great job !

As a current Nissan Kicks owner I'm realy disappointed with Nissan. Excellent explanation by Asir about the variable compression engine. But engine alone doesn't make a car sell. I understand Nissan is not looking to sell huge numbers as its a CBU but atleast they could have bought the facelifted version with all bells and whistles. Fabric seats and manual height adjuster on a 40L SUV is unforgivable. The 8 inch infotaiment screen is the same one on my kicks. Instead of giving us world class product Nissan is just dumping their old unsold prefacelifted product to us. This car is clearly a base variant based on the specs. What's stopping them from at least giving the mid variant with must have gizmos for common public. A luxury car is a status symbol for most folks. Sad that Nissan is treating us like a third World country. Definitely this is going to bring down Nissans brand value down. P.S. This engine even though is an engineering masterpiece is getting investigated in U.S for engine failures. Around 450,000 vehicles are under scrutiny

This isn't the top spec variant.. Abroad u have a full loaded variant plus an hybrid variant too. Since it's a CBU, I think Nissan brought the non top spec variant so that it can be priced below 50 lakhs.
