Today I installed an alpine reverse camera and multi camera interface for the ILX-702d I installed into this Nissan X-trail.
I have also prewired it to be ready for new cameras to be installed in the front grill and passengers wing mirror at a later date.

I’m pretty sure that deck runs primarily US spec. That would mean it only supports NTSC. I’m glad to hear you were able to talk the customer into doing the job right. We’re gonna miss seeing grant. You’re gonna have to track him down and film him later on. 😂

Hi! Can you tell which connector to use to connect that alpine kcx c250mc to the Ilx 702d ?! They told is a direct connection but I can t find how to connect! I need another type a connector .in my Ilx 702d my PRE OUT connector is empty ,so there is where I should connect it ? Thanks a lot

Well, there are 2 options with the side camera - you either burnt it by sending 12V to the signal wires or it is not an analogue camera, but rather a digital (e.g. USB) one, i.e. not usable with the camera module/headunit. But you have to replace it anyway. Regarding the PAL vs NTSC I would guess this is only a software issue and might be resolved by upgrading the firmware of the camera module. I would contact Alpine support to get it resolved, but it might happen that it'll take more time than you have before the shop closing up. But is worth a try IMO. Maybe the firmware fix is already available. Good luck with all of that and with finding a new inspiring job!

Yea I figured the same about why we can’t get signal. Either we killed it or it’s some other ‘Nissan special’ type of signal. I did start with only 6v since that’s what’s most cameras from Japan run off but I suppose it was still just gonna be either lucky or not. Unfortunately as far as I j is there is no sure fire way to test and figure out which wire is power and which is signal. We found that the black and shield wires had continuity meaning Black was definitely an earth/shield. Oh well problem will hopefully be solved soon with new cameras.

NTSC and PAL are video standards. You cant run both standards at the same time unless you have some expensive video switcher. One is 50hz Rest of the world, the other is 60hz for America. This doesnt really matter in cars as its a 12volt DC system. So choose one and stick with it.
