Thanks for the video. Just replaced the belt on my 2011 with 112K mile on it. Belt was still in good condition, but with over 100K on it, thought it was time to replace. My tensioner does not make any noise, but I can feel I little play in it. So I will be replacing it soon.

My serp. belt is new. I only want to replace tensioner. It’s not a dollar issue. It’s that I’m scared to. Please assist. TIA!

Great Video. I'd like to ask you (since you've replaced a few of these) if this belt tensioner can cause vibrations or shuddering at the steering wheel when worn. My tensioner doesn't appear to squeak, but after visual inspection, I wonder if I have excessive movement on the tensioner causing vibrations. I'm not sure how much movement is normal. Moreover, I've tried diagnosing the steering wheel vibration and have replaced many parts (motor mounts, rack and pinion, serpentine belt, etc) with no success. Any help would be appreciated. Thanks.

Is your vibration at freeway speeds (or, mostly at those speeds)? If so, these trucks (Xterra, Frontier, Pathfinder, Titan) are known for vibrating in the 55-75 MPH range - this is due to harmonic resonance that is part of the design, and is very difficult to correct. I've heard of some X and Frontier guys swapping over to Titan tie rod ends (not sure on the extent of modification needed to accommodate that) which are stiffer and reduce the vibration. To answer your question, I've never seen these tensioners cause a steering vibration at all. Thanks for watching!
