Replacing the fuel pump on a 2000 Nissan Xterra.
My past neighbors Xterra was not starting because it was sitting for more than a year. the gas got bad, it damaged the fuel pump and tank.
I bought it for $300, due to my current neighbor complaining of the eye sore on my yard to the city. I had to get it running to sell it quick.

The company I worked full time,( Rohm and Haas), moved its operations to Mexico, so I had to go full time and my neighbors never complained. Good old southern hospitality. Mine was sitting for 4 years. Pumped the old gas out from the fuel pump opening. (Remove the 3 covers) and slide the siphoning hose in and pump it out. Fill with new gas and bingo. Started right up. =). No problems.

Really sorry for all what happened to you. Please accept my highest appreciation 🙏 for all the hard work that you do. I understand the work done to gas pump. But the gas tank itself was catastrophic. needed to be cleaned very well before you install the new pump. On the other hand, if you do sell it anyway, the new owner need to do that. That of course among so many things. Thank you for efforts.. again.. very much appreciate hard working man trying very hard to make a living.

I see in the video that he just had one extra vehicle in the front, not an extra dirty messy and oil vehicle. I think it's completely acceptable. I have been working for almost 20 years now 362 or 363 days per year. Hope My car is always a mess, but I make sure I clean my car before going to have my car repaired. I live in area where most my neighbors mind their own business, but almost every damn day one of the guy driving around giving ticket if you lay things around in front of your house. It starts to get on my nerve every time I see him driving by and look around for something to write. I live right next to the oil pump; it smells and very dirty, but he never writes a ticket to the big oil company. He wrote us a few tickets. By the way, I am US veteran. Thanks for great video. I have learned a lot by watching your video.

At least that violation letter did not say you cannot work on your vehicle in the neighbor. I live in the neighbor that I cannot even change my own oil and it sucks. According to the HOA, it is a major car repair. LOL They might even count replacing a headlight bulb as major repair since you have to pull headlight assembly off to replace a bulb in many modern vehicles.

Hoi so I have a question I have a Honda accord with a prelude motor h22 in it and I kind follow the steps here in this video to my honda. Here's my question I turn my key to the on position and here a hissing sound come from the engine compartment is that the fuel pump priming u? Another thing I took out the line that goes to the fuel rail I turn the key to the on position and gas came out does that mean my fuel pump is bad or still good?

I have the same situation on a 1996 Toyota Camry that has not been starting in 6 years. Fuel system is the obvious problem. Opened the fuel tank to find the fuel pump assembly and the fuel tank completely covered in corrosion and all the old gas has evaporated/corroded. Do I need to replace the entire fuel tank cause the corrosion is bad or will replacing the fuel pump and cycling clean gas through the system like you did be enough to get the car to start. Any help would be appreciated!
