Good video with good music! Tell me, have you ever had a situation where you needed low range in the sand?

Proper low range? No, the xtrail is quite a capable SUV. I do use the lock mode on the xtrail when first taking off on sand or going up a dune if I don't have momentum. On this trip I did have to be towed up a long steep dune, but that was because I didn't have enough ground clearance for the ruts.

If you just want to get up onto the dunes for a look around, you should be fine. But I'd recommend going with a mate with a proper 4x4 if you want to go all the way to the beach. Going in would be OK, it's the getting out that can be tricky if the track is really chomped out.

Is there any parking space there where to park your car and walk way up to the sand dunes?

StaNGage6 not at the start of the dunes. There is a short sand track to drive in on from the camp hut. I guess it would take about 30 min to walk the track to the dunes.

darcybuck Do I need to lower the tyre pressure from the start of that bush track road before the sand dunes? Or, is there any access for 2wd vehicle to drive near the sand dunes? I have nissan pathfinder r52 4wd but i’m not sure if I can make it up there.

StaNGage6 to the start of the dunes, you should be fine without lowering pressures. I cant remember if there is space to turn around though. It’s been a few years since I was there.
