Nissian oil pressure issue explained.

This has been an issue since 2001 and was most common with the VQ35DE series engines and other variants. I have a 2003 Pathfinder with the VQ35DE engine with this exact same issue. It started around 95K miles (15 yrs ago) and gave me four DTC's: P0011 P0021 P1110 P1135. The engine ran great with no performance issues, no limp mode, no oil light. Just the DTC's I mentioned. I finally got around to replacing those two Y oil galley seals last year with the engine having 250K on it and all codes cleared after replacing those seals and has been DTC free since except for the crank position sensor I replaced two weeks ago. The Y seals I replaced weren't as bad as the seals in this video which would explain my symptoms not being as bad. Why Nissan still hasn't corrected this issue after all these years is beyond me. I bet Nissan still uses the Jatco CVT transmissions which are known to be the worst. On the contrary, Jatco made one of the best automatic non CVT transmissions which is mind boggling and my 2003 Pathfinder hasn't had one single transmission issue now having 262K miles on a Jatco trans.

I never had engine problems with Japanese 4 cylinders as long as they are naturally aspirated and port injection. Especially the cast iron block ones. I avoid v6 and v8 since I don’t need it. I’m nearly 50 years old and only needed ignition coils or water pumps in cars and trucks and normally keep them for at least 200k miles.

Hey good find. Did you use some type of gasket rtv on engine side or covers side. Like maybe little not a lot. You don’t want it pushing out. How about blue thread lock on new screws ?? Nice tutorial

@@josephpuchel6497 I used some blue loctite on the new screws. I did not use any RTV on the new gaskets.
