I might buy the ultralight one as an emergency back-up torch. I got stuck in a forest due to storm damage in late December last year, and I had to retrace my steps over two hills. My Nitecore nu32 gave me a clear light from 3.30pm when it got dark to 11pm when I got back to my car. I was able to use the beam to see my way far ahead and I could also see the very rough ground right in front of me. I had it on a low light most of the time, and I only needed to recharge it once. I'd recently bought a new light and powerful charger, which was a godsend. I was able to charge my phone twice with it, and the torch once. The torch was three years old at the time. It's too powerful to use when camping - I take a softer light, so the nu25 might be useful for that too.

Hello! I am looking for a headtorch to use for running around my town and also the occasional hiking trip. I can get it for 35€. I can't imagine the UL version staying on tight or even being comfortable on my head while the non-UL looks fairly comfortable but I am still unsure about it staying on tight and not bobbing. What is your experience with that? Is it a bother or do you not even think about it? Nice review, thank you

Hi Neil. The non UL is definitely a bit more comfortable and the extra weight is hardly noticeable. As they are both very lightweight I haven't found that they bounce around and come loose. That can be a problem with heavier torches but I don't find it an issue with the NU25. Thanks for watching.
