I bought one for my dad. Mom is in a motorized wheelchair, and there have been times when they went to Cracker Barrel late- some guy comes up behind dad asking for a cigarette. The way Nitecore set up this light, you can be using 65lm to light the way for mom with the left hand, and when Mr Cigarette walks up behind dad, press and hold the mode button as you turn, and smack his eyes with 4000 lm. Then dad can decide whether he needs to use his right hand to get a different EDC to deal with a potential attacker. That’s what this light is made for. 4000 lumens is blinding. The way it’s made, you don’t even have to aim it perfectly.

Already ordered mine. I'm ok with only 10 seconds of turbo, but WHY did they not include a 1000 lumen mode? Maybe they thought that running both 1k and 4k modes would make for crappy battery life?
@ChrispyThings4 жыл бұрын
Possible. It would be nice to have something in between 4K and 200 for sure.
@mikelarry888884 жыл бұрын
i think if it had a 1000lumen mode , then when using that mode the torch would heat up alot and then if the user stepped it up to the 4000lumens ,because of the heat already generated the 4000lumen mode would only last a few seconds which would really show up the limitations of the torch and probably just annoy the user - so it could be a marketing strategy to not include any brightness levels between 200 and 4000
@mariocuschieri61584 жыл бұрын
It is impressive, however for an edc, I think it is a bit bulky. Would be good to use the 4000 just to scan the yard
@james107394 жыл бұрын
I don't think it's bulky to carry every day but I think for a keychain its way to big

5:09 There is information on the website on the runtime on the Turbo. I am looking at the website now and it says Turbo 4000 Lumen 10 second burst

@besthifisystem65113 жыл бұрын
Hey I bought it and it would be better if it has a larger battery capacity at least 5000mah like its big brothers-Nitecore E4k and Nitecore i4000r
@mixolivera4 жыл бұрын
I think the nitecore TUP would be a better choice. It's 1000 lumens at turbo mode with no stepdown and around 15min runtime. Even the high mode at 200 lumens of the TUP has longer runtimes and distance. It's also way cheaper compared to the T4K
@james107394 жыл бұрын
I think the TUP will step down because of temperature before the 15 min mark but I have never tried

As far as I know, the waterproof and dustproof performance of the product is IP54, but the C-type charging part is not blocked, but it is pierced, so I am worried that water may enter it This article may be inaccurate because it is translated using a translator

Must be a jailer's keychain light because it's beefy. If they slim that down for a normal keychain it would be pretty cool.
@ChrispyThings4 жыл бұрын
It’s too big for a keychain. If they could slim it down, up the IP rating to 66 or higher, extend the 4000 lumens to at least 1 minute, and add a 1000 or 1500 lumen mode, this would be an almost perfect light.
@Parker_Jim4 жыл бұрын
Great looking flashlight. Kinda clunky for EDC and the turbo is only seconds. I would rather have something smaller with similar outputs. Great review, this Bud's for you dude.
@energizeric85264 жыл бұрын
That’s not the smallest 4000 Lumen flashlight. The smallest is the Imalent LD70, and that flashlight actually has a runtime of around a minute on turbo mode, and on the 900 lumen step down mode it runs for quite a long time. It’s a much better, and slightly smaller flashlight than this one.
@ChrispyThings4 жыл бұрын
The Imalent is .04 inches smaller. And I believe Nitecore is measuring total length. If you measure to the end of the body not counting the clip it’s a little smaller. Either or these aren’t my words. They’re the words of Nitecore. The reason I put a question mark in the title.
@ChrispyThings4 жыл бұрын
Also they changed their wording on their site. They changed it from worlds smallest 4k lumen flashlight to worlds brightest edc keychain flashlight. I’m going to change the title. Thanks
@energizeric85264 жыл бұрын
Sorry, didn’t mean for my post to seem argumentative, just posting the info because I recently purchased the Imalent LD70. Based on your review, it seems like the Imalent is probably a better flashlight, although I’m not sure the cost of the Nightcore. The Imalent was $54 with a coupon code. I agree that the turbo modes of these flashlights is not very usable with such a short runtime, but the LD70 can run on 900 lumens for 45 minutes.
@Madman65054 жыл бұрын
@@energizeric8526 dang I'm going to have to check out the LD70 too.
@ChrispyThings4 жыл бұрын
It’s all good man. But technically you’re right. The Nitecore T4K is 90 bucks, so the Imalent seems to be a much better deal if you’re looking for a high lumen flashlight in a small body.
@okinawanah34632 жыл бұрын
The 4000 lumen is misleading 200 lumens is realistic to not fry the chips and battery They need to make sealed liquid filled cooling fins to truly advertise their 4k lumens

Not blaming Nightcore as ALL flashlight companies do this, but i am getting pretty sick of companies selling flashlights claiming thousands of Lumens, when it only lasts a brief time. When i look for a flashlight, i actually completely ignore Turbo mode and buy based on the High runtime due to this.

10 seconds for that type of light output in such a small body is fine. these shouldn't be seen as search lights.

I agree. Then they really shouldn’t have that many lumens to begin with if they’re not meant to be search lights. It takes me back to being impractical.
